An Unexpected Surprise!~

We were out for a walk today, getting some errands done, when we happened to come across an abandoned bowling alley. I don't know how popular bowling is everywhere else in the world, but here in Canada, it used to be a wonderful way to spend time with friends, pass the time, and show off your skills 😉

Of course, nowadays is a different story... The sport has definitely decreased in popularity over the decade... As such, many places have closed their doors, including this one here.

Thankfully, this one was covered in graffiti! 😀🙏 One of those things that truly brings meaning to the phrase, "life emerging from out of the ashes." Even though this building is no longer a bowling alley, we can find solace in the fact that lots of great memories were made here! ❤️

Anyway, without further ado, let's jump into this artwork!~ 🥳🎉

Whippin' corners! 🤪 I love the font, but especially the single flying pin, taking off like a rocket! It reminds me of one of those spastic firecrackers that zoom off and 💥 POP!! 💥

If you don't recognize this one, we cannot be friends 🙅‍♀️ Yes, this is the classic Homer bowling ball from THE SIMPSONS! They captured Marge's birthday cake beautifully 🥺

I love this photo for a variety of reasons. 1: the straight jacket lettering. 2: "They say I'm crazy" because I am also mentally ill! 😄 3: my oldest daughter is in this one! I said cheese and this was the pose she did 😂

This one is pretty neat, done by a local graffiti artist known as KTA. I have seen his artwork all over town, some of which are personal favorites of mine. Recently he has been perfecting glittery sparkles, which I think he has been doing a wonderful job with!

Our girls loved this one for the little doggy sitting atop the letters 🐶

Fun and crazy -- I love this one! 😝 Another great piece of art done by the talented KTA. Very imaginative...

This one brought back some long forgotten memories. I knew that I recognized the little devil character, but I also knew that I had never actually watched him before. It turns out this is HOT STUFF from vintage comic books!

Yet another comic book character that I don't know enough about 😩 As a kid, I used to call this guy SKINNY BATMAN; I knew that he wasn't the REAL Batman because of his red emblem. Anyway, this is Terry McGinnis, and apparently he is Bruce Wayne's SON!! 😱

I absolutely adore this one -- for one thing, Chibi Batman, and for another, I love the black and pink to go with it! Black and pink always go well together, but with Batman?! Why has the thought never occurred to me?! 😭

ooOoOoh, we'd better know this one too 🤞 We canNOT have a bowling alley without some kind of BIG LEBOWSKI dedication 😄 A movie that I have still never watched from start to finish, but it is one of my Dad's favorites

And then some shots that my husband took 😄 Here were the three of us: our youngest sitting, oldest running around, while I'm snapping my LEBOWSKI shot 😂

Then our oldest daughter wanted some pictures taken with her teddy bears; she made some rather silly faces, but we got some decent pictures

This is Haunt and Smooch. Yes, they are original BEANIE BABIES from 2000!

That is it for today's post! 👋 Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out! This is my first time posting in this community, so I hope my content fits 🙏 In the meantime, please enjoy your week!
