A Walk on the Wild Side

May is here, the warmer weather is finally upon us, sun is shining, flowers are blooming! πŸŒΈβ˜€οΈ Spring is truly a beautifully miraculous time of year... As such, the family and I have been taking the opportunity to take some family walks around the city.

The first location is a very popular trail that we walk quite frequently. It's a wonderful spot for scenery and wildlife, with plenty of birds tweeting their songs as you walk along~ Tons of native trees grow in this area as well, including maple, pine, and birch, allowing for a lovely kaleidoscope of buds and colours πŸπŸ‚

Our little girls are getting so big πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯° Our oldest daughter was adamant about holding her little sister's hand πŸ˜‚ Only her little sister stubbornly did NOT want to hold her hand 😭 So they compromised, and older sister was able to hold onto her sister's jacket sleeve ❀️

This one from behind them is one of my favourites... I feel like it captures the essence of sisterhood beautifully. I hope they will continue to lead one another for the rest of their lives...

I had one older sister growing up, with the same age difference as my daughters, and we were not able to have a positive relationship... Growing up, our parents divorced by the time I was 3-years-old, and my sister and I were put into an involuntary competition that we never agreed to. Unfortunately, my sister would end up carrying it with her for the rest of her life; we no longer talk...

The second location was down by the bay. The bay is a great location for waterfowl! Here, you will see tons of Canadian geese, ducks, and swans. Of course, take warning -- they are not always the friendliest of birds! πŸ˜… They may not chase you, but they will hiss and flap their wings if you get too close!

Our youngest daughter was absolutely ecstatic to get down to the water 😁 We were trying to throw seed out to make them come closer, but no dice!

Meanwhile, our oldest daughter wanted to sit down by the water. We were actually able to get some great shots as the geese came around. She is still apprehensive around the geese (and for good reason!), but she loved it nonetheless.

(Another personal favorite of mine πŸ₯°)

My youngest and I, attempting to feed the geese. Thankfully, she does not seem as terrified of the geese as our oldest πŸ˜‚

I love this one of our oldest! I typically have to blur out their faces when posting publicly, but I would have to cover up her rabbit face in this one 😭🐰 Buckteeth out and all!~

This one is also great πŸ₯ΊπŸ₯° Their relationship is not perfect -- obviously they have physical altercations and such! But the love is also there, and I am incredibly grateful for that πŸ™

Thank you so much for checking out today's post! I hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend πŸ™
