Luke 15:11-24

No matter how far we go into the world, no matter how deep your sin is, it doesn’t matter how heavy the load is on your neck; it doesn’t matter the debt you’ve incurred. As long as God is concerned, you’re still loved by him, and he can’t wait to have you back and, in fact, restore to you the graces you’ve lost, the years you’ve lost, and the resources and relationships you’ve lost only if you return.

Many times we feel there are certain kinds of sins that if we commit, it will be hard for God to just forgive well. That is why he is God when he does that which is difficult or impossible with men. We delay our restoration when we refuse to return and remain in guilt. Beloved, return to God in truth and see what he has stored up for you all the while.

If God had stopped loving you, he wouldn’t have let you continue living while you sin, but because his love for you is that much, he gives you time to await your return and still preserves you from danger. Don't you know that even while in your sin, it is he who has been protecting you from danger? Remember that accident you would have had and narrowly escaped? That was his mercy preserving you. You will return to him, and he will save your soul from perishing. This is enough reason for you to run back to him, cry for mercy, and ask him to restore you. Lord, please restore as many of your children as are willing to return to you in truth.
