The First Wave Of Roses Is Almost Over

Depending on where you live, the first wave of roses is almost over... or not. Where I live, in south-eastern Europe, in Romania, the first wave of rose blooms is almost over.

Roses begin to bloom in this temperate continental climate of Romania in May. Of course, it's not uniform and very precise. As it is in life, there are some who are quicker and more impatient, who always want to be first, just as there are others who are calmer and less ambitious, who don't mind being left behind.

The same goes for roses!

Beyond these slight variations, May is the month when roses bloom, it is the month when roses are the most beautiful. They are fresh and untouched yet by the scorch of summer.

As I think everyone knows, the month of May has been over for some time and summer has taken us into its hot arms. I realized that I didn't pay the necessary attention to my roses, i.e. I didn't bring them into the Hive, for immortality (i.e. the eternal presence promised by the blockchain, right?).

Luckily, I had the help of my camera, which took pictures at the peak of the rose bloom at the end of May and now I can save them here. Plus I can share them with you and get your feedback on both the flowers and the photos!

I have a very small yard and a very big desire to fill it with flowers! I've been trying to bring variety among the chosen flowers, in an attempt to acclimatize a few Mediterranean plants that can make it through the Romanian winter, which is getting milder and shorter due to global warming. However, my wife is a great admirer of roses and because of this, these flowers are the majority in our yard.

I like roses too... but who doesn't like roses?

The only problem with them is that they all bloom once, then the flowers fade after a while, shorter or longer, but then there is a break without flowers. Then the yard is sadder. Now I'm in that pause of bloom recovery and for the memory of the peak bloom time I'm putting up some "rose portraits"!

As I said, I have a very small yard, I would have liked it to be bigger and be able to experiment more with flowers and vegetables.

I couldn't do any more and I hasten to say I am happy with what I have. I was reminded of a saying:

"The dissatisfied are robbed of their gift!".

I don't want to take any chances...

I think the roses in my garden are quicker and impatient. They bloomed in May, and I am not sure if ever again later :)

It should still be blooming. You have to cut off the flowers that have dried up.

Your roses are beautiful! I love the variety of colors and the way they're arranged in the yard. It looks like you've put a lot of care into creating a beautiful space.

I can understand why your wife is a big fan of roses. They're such a classic and beautiful flower. I also like that you're trying to acclimatize some Mediterranean plants to your climate. It's always interesting to see how plants from different regions adapt to new environments.

In summer the way we see the flowers are grow very well and there is greenery everywhere. Here in Pakistan it is still going on at home and all the plants that are there are much more beautiful if they are watered on time.

Same here. Plants need to be watered regularly, otherwise, they dry out.
