Sea, Sun, Cats, and Souvenirs
I think I'll write my first series. You've seen how much-watched series are now. Netflix is full of series, why wouldn't Hive be too?
In fact, so recent short trip to the sea, to Balchik in Bulgaria, my favorite place for walking and relaxing, for forgetting my troubles and cooling off with the breeze, for the salty smell near the sea. The Black Sea!
There is a song in Romania that says... The Black Sea is blue!
I can safely say it's green. I have proof:
Ah, not that, I was wrong! This is...
Neither is this. Surely the following is proof that the Black Sea is... very green.
Actually, I think it's more in my imagination very green and because of that, the photo has also gone a bit too green. In reality, it is like that, more shades. With quite a lot of green, if I look closely!
This is the Black Sea of Balchik. Balchik is the subject of this series I intend to write. In fact I have already posted the first two episodes:
And now it follows:
- Sea, Sun, Cats, and Souvenirs...
... which is a very close continuation of the previous episode, in which I tell how I befriended a cat. A cat that was very close to a small art gallery, art boutique, and souvenir shop.
A place where my wife and our friend I was with on this recent trip stopped. For viewing and shopping!
On the little street with palm trees... plastic!
Art Shop Gallery
Now the cat appears, the real link between the two episodes.
This episode of the Balchik series is dedicated to the #MarketFriday community and to our beloved colleague @dswigle, its creator, curator, and administrator.
In the previous episode, I told how I stayed in front of the store to keep the cat company. My wife and our friend went into the gallery and I was content to photograph them through the window.
This resulted in some photos full of reflections. I really like photos with reflections. I love the multiple planes and images, a richness waiting to be deciphered.
An image where you can see what is in front of the photographer, what is behind the photographer, and sometimes even the photographer!
Many times viewers consider photos with reflections as bad photos, or mistakes of photographers. I don't think so and will continue to use a few more such photos.
I have to say something now about shopping. I don't like to go shopping with women, either my wife or various girlfriends. They all behave the same, once they enter a shop they have plenty of time on their hands, forget about all the other problems. I don't like wasting time this way... I have other ways of wasting time, like all men, don't I? That's why, when I can, I shy away from participating in these wife-searching and shopping parties. This time, the cat in front of the store saved me, at first.
But like any self-respecting cat, she respects her sleep schedule, so she abandoned me.
I was forced to answer countless calls and went into the store. A shop with many beautiful objects...
Lots of beautiful objects were created by local artists but with one flaw. They were too expensive.
I really liked an object, I don't know what to call it, it was neither painting nor ceramic. A mixed technique. I would have loved to put it on a wall at home... A few hundred dollars. More than my whole stay in Balchik. I didn't even have that kind of money!
Instead, for dolls, hats, and bags there would have been some money, but in the end, I resisted the temptation.
I left, reluctantly, I mean I reluctantly extracted the girls from the shop and left the new cat friend to keep watch over the little shop.
I was intrigued that the Bulgarians keep the flowers in cages, but it might be a good idea after all. Unfortunately for me, when I released the birds I had, I also released the cages. I no longer have them.
Back to the walk, on the promenade by the sea. The two friends already have memories of this gallery.
My wife already has as much material memory as can be.
Not expensive at all, only $15!
Finally, back to the walk. The beauty of this small town cannot be easily described. Thank goodness for the photos.
The end of this episode cannot be done without a flower, #alwaysaflower beautifies our lives.
End of episode 3.
Congratulations, your post has been added to Pinmapple! 🎉🥳🍍
Did you know you have your own profile map?
And every post has their own map too!
Want to have your post on the map too?
Thank you!
The sea is very beautiful. The mountains there are also beautiful. There are also hotels by the sea. It feels good to sit in such an environment. Everything is available nearby.
Yes, you're right. Everything is beautiful. Thank you!
I’m going to binge watch the rest of the series now! Men and women have interesting ways of wasting time with neither of us truly comprehending the fascination of such things!
Thank you! Now you force me to keep my promise and write them.
Absolutely 😀 no pressure at all!
Wao I've been playing with my cats all day today too because it's a holiday the way we see the blue water looks so beautiful and this market is so beautiful too. Equipment can be found. This cato is also very cute.

this place Looks really beautiful to have a walk and just to pass a good time!
is not that good that they seell expensive things.. people would think twice before buying... is better to sell cheap but with more volume!
What a great way to present! In episodes. I like it and would never have thought of it had I not seen you do it.
The Black Sea is Blue, is that true? I think we can agree that it depends. The basic principle behind the remote sensing of ocean color from space is this: the more phytoplankton in the water, the greener it is....the less phytoplankton, the bluer it is.
I will have to backtrack on your other stories. :) I do like the cat, it reminds me a little of the one I have at home, a little baby calico cat. I love the tri-colors that she adorns. For some reason, all the calicos I know are sweet!
I just reread that those palms were plastic! Blasphemous! How is that even allowed? I see the link between the cat in both episodes! :) Nice way to tie them together. I can see that your ladies like to shop. They are like moths to the light! (of course, I mean this in a nice way!) I love reflections too and am always looking for one that is fun. If that is you in the reflection, you have certainly lost some weight.
Although I am not a real big shopper, if I do go into a shop, time does stand still, so I don't think it is your wife, I just think it happens! LOL It does seem that anything that is nice or something I may think about purchasing is too rich for the purse. That is where the dollar stops. Although, I will say that (money aside) I really liked that eclectic wall hanging. I am hesitant to call it by the wrong name, but, my oh my, that would really look pretty nice on my wall. :) I know, yours too, but, we can time share!!!! My daughter was looking over my shoulder and spotted Magda's necklace. She loved it! I do too. It looks very nice, I could not even look at a necklace here for that price, even if I bought it in the Dollar Store!
The view is spectacular and the flowers is perfect~ You always make me smile with your ending! Thank you for taking us with you, I adore going to one of the most peaceful places.
#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.
Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday
Thanks, @dswigle! I can say they're my words, too.
Forgive me for not being able to respond in time, especially to a #marketfriday post.
Even #marketfriday goes on vacation, doesn't it? On cruises but also to Balchik. It was nice and pleasant, wasn't it?
In this part of the world there are still lower prices, but who knows how long they will stay that way.
Good grief! I answered you so late, It is a wonder everyone doesn't quit me! I am not sure why anyone comes back!
#MarketFriday is always leaving town on vacation, LOL I especially liked Balchik! It was better than pleasant! I learned that from the best!
I heard that Bulgaria is better priced than most places, but, some things are starting to rise in price. Of course. Isn't everything? Thanks for always taking us with you!
Well, how can they leave you? You can't be left, and those who do are fools!
Still, people are quick to forget those they haven't seen for a while. I try not to. I even remember many of our early colleagues who are no longer here.
I am so glad I managed to convey my love for Balchik, thanks for the proof.
