Today, I am thrilled to take you on a virtual journey to a place that has captivated my heart not once, not twice, but several times. A place where stone architecture whispers tales of the past and vibrant bougainvillea blooms add a touch of color to the narrative. Yes, I am talking about the Pindangan Ruins located in San Fernando, La Union. On Easter Sunday, I had the privilege to revisit this historical gem with my daughter and three of my close friends. I had mentioned in a previous blog about my longing to return to the ruins after my initial visit a few years before the pandemic. And finally, the stars aligned, and we made the trip!

The Pindangan Ruins are a testament to the resilience of history, standing tall amidst the passage of time. The stone architecture is a sight to behold, with its intricate patterns and sturdy walls that have withstood the test of time. The structure is predominantly made of coral stones, held together by a mixture of egg whites, sugar cane juice, mango leaves, and rice straw. This unique blend of materials has resulted in an architectural marvel that has endured for centuries.

As a photography junkie, I find the ruins offer an endless array of captivating angles and perspectives. The stone walls, with their rough texture and earthy tones, contrast beautifully with the soft, vibrant hues of the bougainvilleas.
