Yesterday, I had the pleasure of discovering a quaint little coffee kiosk named Rubwat Coffee, nestled at the back of our town plaza here in San Juan, La Union, right beside the St. John the Baptist Church Catholic Church. It was Friday, and my daughter didn't have a class in the morning, so she was not exhausted enough to go out for an evening walk to the Christmas Village.
After checking out the Christmas lights and decorations at the plaza, we were in the mood for something to drink. That's when we stumbled upon this place. It's a small kiosk, but don't let that fool you. The vibe is super chill and welcoming, even though it's just along the road. I was drawn to this charming spot by the inviting aroma of freshly brewed coffee.
My daughter is only 11, and she can't drink coffee yet. I am glad they also serve shakes and non-caffeinated drinks. She ordered a strawberry ice scramble, if you are familiar with that. It's a mixture of crushed ice, powdered milk, and glazed strawberry-flavored syrup. I tried it, and it was good! I ordered a cup of cappuccino, and it was nothing short of delightful. It costs Php90 pesos (a little less than $2 USD). The coffee was rich, creamy, and had a robust flavor that was just right—not too strong nor too mild. It was the perfect way to cap off our evening, under the twinkling Christmas lights of San Juan Plaza.
Our visit to Rubwat Coffee was around 7 p.m., a perfect time to enjoy the cool evening breeze and the vibrant Christmas lights. The staff were friendly, and the service was quick, adding to the overall pleasant experience. In conclusion, Rubwat Coffee is a must-visit if you find yourself in San Juan, La Union. It's not just a coffee shop; it's an experience—a small kiosk with a big heart. We stayed there for a little less than 30 minutes, and with that short period of time, I must say, we had great mom-daughter bonding. Indeed, coffee is happiness in a cup with a heart!

Ice scramble is such a nostalgic drink! It was my favorite afternoon snack. 😊 Small kiosks have that homey vibe. The Christmas decors made it more special for the holiday. 🥰

It looks to be a cool place or some hot drinks. i love the vibrant and ambience. it is hard to get such vibes in indian shop which usuallu bustling with people
