Season's end: Reflecting on the last day of school

A pleasant weekend, y'all amazing people!
Yesterday was a bittersweet day as imy daughter marked the end of their school year. The school had a surprise for the pupils, ending their classes earlier than usual at 2 pm instead of the regular 4:20 pm dismissal time. This unexpected change in schedule brought a mix of excitement and nostalgia as they prepared for the upcoming school vacation.
In the midst of the school day, my daughter sent me a message during her lunch break. She asked if I could pick her up around 3 or 4 pm so she could enjoy a final game of tag with her friends before the school year officially came to a close. Her request added a touch of spontaneity to the day, and I eagerly agreed to her plan. As the clock struck half past 3 pm, I made my way to the school to pick her up. Upon arrival, I spotted her waiting at one of the benches near the guard's house, a familiar spot that had become a meeting point for many students and parents. The area was adorned with majestic flamboyant trees that lined the school's parking lot, their branches bursting with vibrant orange blooms. The sight of these trees in full bloom was truly a spectacle, transforming the school surroundings into a scene reminiscent of a tropical paradise.
I was so captivated by the gorgeous flambouyant flowering trees (some call it a fire tree) that I just had to snap some photos. I whipped out my phone and took a few shots of the stunning scene, making sure to get my daughter in the frame standing under those vibrant blooms. The mix of the bright orange flowers against the lush green leaves made for a picture-perfect setting, capturing the essence of the day. As we hung out by the trees, taking in all the beauty around us, a sense of gratitude washed over me. I felt grateful for the little things that make life special like being able to enjoy nature's beauty in full bloom, sharing a precious moment with my daughter, and savoring that brief moment of peace and quiet. Despite the sense of contentment that enveloped me, there was also a twinge of sadness in knowing that this would be the last day I would be visiting the school for the current academic year. The thought of saying goodbye to the familiar routine of school drop-offs and pick-ups, the interactions with teachers and fellow parents, and the sight of the school grounds bustling with activity stirred a mix of emotions within me.
As we walked out of the school gates, I couldn't resist glancing back at those stunning trees one more time. Their bright blooms seemed to whisper about the passage of time, reminding me of how life moves in circles and how each new school year brings fresh starts. It was comforting to think that just like those trees would bloom again next year, the memories of this special day would also bloom in our hearts, ready to be relived in the future. In that fleeting moment of reflection, I felt a sense of anticipation for the future and for the new experiences, challenges, and joys that awaited us in the next school year. And as we traveled away from the school, with the image of the blooming flamboyant trees etched in my mind, I carried with me a sense of gratitude for the memories made on this memorable last day of school.
I hope to see these flambouyant trees bloom again next school year!
