Happy Hump Day, y'all amazing people!It's another Wednesday Walk tale, and here's another new adventure I had the past few days.

Around noon on Easter Sunday, the day was filled with anticipation and excitement. My daughter and I were looking forward to spending the day with our friends who had come down to La Union for some much-needed sun and beach vibes. They were staying at a hotel in Taboc, San Juan, La Union, which was conveniently close to our place. We couldn't resist the opportunity to catch up with them before they checked out later that day. We actually wanted to meet them earlier that day, but I was too tired the day before that and woke up late.

Anyway, our day started with a pleasant walk towards their hotel. The day was fine; it was a little humid but I still heard the birds chirping on our way, and the sun was just happy, giving us some heat. The anticipation of meeting my friends added to our steps. As we reached the hotel, we were greeted by warm smiles and cheerful laughter. After catching up and sharing stories, it was time for them to check out. By this time, we were all famished and ready for a good meal. I suggested we try Casa Margarita, a Spanish-inspired/old Philippine-style hotel and restaurant situated in Taboc, San Juan, and La Union. Casa Margarita is an old house converted into a hotel and restaurant, offering authentic Filipino dishes combined with an antique interior and ambiance that gives off a feel-at-home vibe.

As we made our way to Casa Margarita, the charm of the place was evident from the moment we stepped foot in the parking area. The first thing that caught our eye were the huge pots that were displayed there. They were so pretty that we couldn't help but joke about how we'd be broke if we accidentally broke one! Entering the restaurant was like stepping back in time. The decor was a feast for the eyes, with gorgeous chandeliers hanging from the ceiling, antique tables and chairs, and beautiful wall decor. The utensils themselves were antique pieces that added to the overall ambiance of the place. The restaurant was buzzing with activity, yet it felt cozy and welcoming, just like home. Despite our friends' cravings for "bulalo" (a traditional Filipino beef marrow stew), we were a little bit disappointed to find out that it wasn't on their menu. However, this minor setback didn't dampen our spirits. We quickly found a nearby cafeteria, which is close to our house, that served the mouth-watering dish, and our hunger was soon satisfied. It was actually my first time to dine at that Bulalo Place.

So yeah, the rest of our visit to Casa Margarita was filled with laughter, conversation, and the enjoyment of its unique vibe. The ambiance of the restaurant, combined with the company of good friends, made our Easter Sunday truly memorable. As the day came to a close, we said our goodbyes, promising to meet again soon. They drove me and my daughter back home after our road trip, and we couldn't help but reminisce about the wonderful day we had spent at Casa Margarita and other tourist spots. The memory of the antique decor, the delicious food, and the company of our friends made us all smile.

In conclusion, Casa Margarita is more than just a restaurant. It's a place where you can enjoy authentic Filipino cuisine (which we missed kinda) in a setting that feels like home, surrounded by beautiful antique decor.
