Happy Friday, amazing people!

Last week, during my husband's visit home, we traveled far north for a family staycation as a birthday celebration for our daughter as well. We stayed at one of the private resorts in Luna, La Union, where we rented a small house with private cottages and karaoke, just a few walks from the beach. This is different from where we live, which is the surfing capital; this one is famous for its beautiful beach pebbles and corals. After we checked out the day after, we decided to stop by one of the famous tourist spots in the area, which is the Baluarte Watch Tower. It is just a few minutes drive from the resort.

We then embarked on a family adventure to the Baluarte Watch Tower in Luna. So, this watch tower in Luna has quite an interesting history. It's been standing there for centuries, silently witnessing the passage of time. Legend has it that the tower was built during the Spanish colonial period, serving as a lookout point to protect the town from pirate attacks. Can you imagine that? Pirates! The tower itself is made of sturdy stone, which has weathered the test of time. It's amazing to think about the craftsmanship that went into building it all those years ago. The tower's strategic location, right in front of the beach, allowed the watchmen to have a clear view of the sea, giving them an advantage in spotting any potential threats.

So anyway, the weather was just right, the sky was clear, and the tower, standing tall and proud, was a sight to behold. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a group of enthusiastic teenagers who, I was told, work there as photographers. The money they earned served as their school allowance. My respect for them is big. They were full of energy, ready to capture our day in the best light. Their instructions were so clear and precise that we couldn't help but follow them. They knew exactly where to position us for the best shots, making us feel at ease in front of the camera.

We took photos in front of the tower, next to it, and even on the brick walls leading up to it. Each shot was a moment captured, a memory made. The photographers had a knack for making us laugh and enjoy the moment, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. One of the unique features of the Baluarte Watch Tower is the padlocks that visitors have attached to the gate. Each padlock represents a memory, a promise, or a wish. We decided to join in this tradition, but unfortunately, we did not have any keys on hand. I took photos instead. It was a small but meaningful gesture that symbolized our memorable day at the tower.

After our photo session, we spent just a few minutes exploring the beach just in front of the tower. The sand was warm under our feet, and the sea was a beautiful shade of blue. I wish it was cooler so we could stay longer, but nonetheless, it was an awesome, fun day. It was a great way to relax and enjoy each other's company. Our trip to the Baluarte Watch Tower was more than just a visit to a historical site. It was a day of fun, laughter, and making memories as a family. It was a day we'll always remember.

If you happen to cross La Union in the future, this is a great place to visit. Until our next adventure. Thank you, friends, for stopping by. Have a fantastic day, y'all!

Wow, the color of that water is gorgeous! This looks like a wonderful place to spend the day with your partner.

The locks that have been left behind are really cool, it's interesting to think of all of the things they represent in other people's lives.

Thanks for the fun read 😁

Hey there, @grindan Thank you, sister. It was a fun day out there. If only it was not that humid, I could stay up a lil longer. But it was worth visiting. :)
