WOO! Perry Saturn Lands on HIVE!

A Big Hello to all WOO Fans! 🥳🥳🥳 WOO!

It seems that former Pro Wrestler Perry Saturn of WWE fame (yes he's the real deal 😜) has finally landed on HIVE! To be honest, I always thought his HIVE nick was going to be perrysaturn or some form like that, but it is actually @planetarypro!

That said, he has made his very FIRST POST at last!

Thanks to @bookerman who notified all WOO fans, we have been made aware of Perry's first post (https://peakd.com/hive-191258/@planetarypro/36-years-ago-i-began-training-for-wrestling) which talks about his start 36 years ago.

I must say he looked completely different back then in his youth! Photos like these are hard to come by for all authentic wrestling fans and having personalities like these over here will definitely bring the wrestling crowd over here (in time).

Anyway, for those who want a quick summary of what the post is all about, (I obviously recommend you to read it 🤣), here's a quick point form summary.

Summary of Perry Saturn's Story:

Start of Wrestling Training:

• Began training with Walter ‘Killer’ Kowalski on June 4, 1988.
  Wrestling was primarily regional, with national exposure limited to TBS on Saturday nights.

Finding a Trainer:

• Wrote to Bill Apter, a wrestling columnist, asking for training recommendations.
  Received a reply suggesting Walter Kowalski, including his contact number.

Initial Contact with Kowalski:

• Kowalski initially thought Saturn was too small to be a wrestler.
  Saturn insisted on training as a wrestler despite Kowalski's reservations.
• Required to pay $1,500 upfront, non-refundable.

Financial and Physical Challenges:

• Did not have the required $1,500.
• Received $8,000 from an insurance claim after a news van damaged his car.
• Used the money to move to Boston and join Kowalski’s school.
• Realized gaining muscle mass was a slow process, requiring hard work.

Training Environment:

• Training took place in a Tang Soo Do dojo with a painful boxing ring.
• Kowalski used the challenging environment to weed out those not serious about wrestling.

Progress and First Match:

• Over time, Saturn earned Kowalski’s respect through hard work and unique martial arts skills.
• Gained weight, reaching about 200 lbs.
• Kowalski decided Saturn was ready for a live show but forgot his last name and wrote "Saturn" instead of "Satullo."

Gimmick Development:

• Kowalski initially wanted Saturn to be ‘Cowboy’ Perry Saturn.
• Saturn preferred a biker/cowboy gimmick and proposed the name ‘The Iron Horseman’ Perry Saturn.
• Kowalski agreed, possibly misunderstanding, and Saturn adopted the new persona with appropriate attire.

Outcome:

• This is how Perry Saturn became known as ‘The Iron Horseman’ Perry Saturn from Crossroads, New Mexico.
