This took me right back to my beloved grandfather's house ... I can hear that rooster crowing again... I was not yet five when Grandpa went on home to be with the Lord, but I still have vivid memories of being in the countryside with him, and this picture took me all the way back. It is not somewhere I often go mentally -- to be five and to be heartbroken -- but to understand what the "the wages of sin is DEATH," and why that is SO BAD that young -- it was necessary, but it's still a lot. Thank you for evoking the good parts of that journey back ...

Yes, we learn ... not the easiest lesson, but looking back, I acknowledge that God was right. Didn't know then how old Grandpa was, how much he went through, and that he was glad to give his little granddaughters the best of his last ... he has been laughing and enjoying life ever so much more since 1986 ... gotta look at it as God loved him and knew him best!
