Greetings Dear Readers;

Hope you are well and enjoying the weather wherever you are.

How about this Principle...this Timeless Truth...shall we give it a look?

'Humility is accompanied by Objectivity.'

Perhaps we should begin with a definition of 'Humility'...a State or quality of being humble in spirit; Freedom from pride and arrogance.

Characteristics of humility are thoughtfulness of others, teachability and objectivity.

The word 'Humility' has an antonym ..'Arrogance'. Let's note a couple of characteristics of 'Arrogance'. Arrogance is accompanied by subjectivity, makes an issue of self and is occupied with self. The antonym, the contrasting meaning should assist in comprehension of the word, 'Humility'.

Here's hoping that today's Principle gives us a better understanding of the word 'Humility'. Let's give it a think.

Photographs are taken of Flowers from Bleujay's Garden and Tulips from a local Flower Shoppe with an iPad Pro. Flowers are from Dogwood Trees and Viburnum Shrubbery 'Snowball' along with Tulips. Arranged and photographed by Bleujay.

Humility is not something everyone has, and it can be fake at times. Since we are human beings, it's easy to pretend and act humble just because of what we tend to gain. Also, there are people who respect people even after having everything. In life, there are things that define, for some people, it's money, for some fame etc.

Nice principle: "Humility is accompanied by Objectivity." Yes ... if arrogance is the antonym of humility, then this gets more understandable I think, as arrogance prevents to be objective as if focuses so strongly on oneself ... so humility without that focus allows objectivity ...

Both, photography and watercolour drawing, are also very beautiful! 😍

Well that's a good principle, subjectivity bring to "I am right in this opinion" which is arrogance, on the other hand who's objective accepts easier critics and such

True, they could be correct in their opinion, yet in humility they would not say it in that manner as humility is also modest....interesting.

Yes...that is a benefit of humility...being able to accept 'critiques and such'...as you wrote. A virtue worth acquiring.

Humility is highly underrated. It seems as though a sizeable portion of the population is so outspoken and opinionated these days. They come across as rude and belligerant, and that borders on violence. I wonder where the gentler days have gone.

Your flower arrangement and painting are lovely as always! I was unfamiliar with the dogwood blossom. Of course, I have seen the blooms on the trees, but never saw a closeup of a blossom...lovely!

It was a bit tricky to use the blossoms in an arrangement as they really have no stem...however it had to be done. ^__^

The photos are stunning ... the painting was amazing ... the principle was mind-opening. Because I am a curious person (44 and STILL wanting to go up every side trail on every hill, in every park, and even if I've been there, every season is still different), the recognition that there is still so much to learn is very much with me ... I just never fully connected that to humility, or realized what I would lose if at any time I became arrogant ... one would essentially become blind to the real world ... and that, indeed, is what pride does all the way into eternal matters.

Humility is difficult to find in most people because we often think of ourselves before others, but we must learn to cultivate that humility. The dogwood flowers look beautiful, my friend. They are truly incredible. Greetings and blessings to you and your family. Have a great weekend.

I love your photos and painting. The Dogwoods have shed their blooms here now, but in our area the trees are abundant and earlier in the spring, they were so beautiful. There is a white one in my front yard, but there are many that are light or dark pink around too. They are the state flower here in North Carolina.

I pray everyday for the grace to be humble, and the Grace not to sin against God or commit the sin of pride.
It's easy to be proud but difficult to be humble. Life can easily make people proud especially if they're successful in their accomplishments.

The theme of humility is wonderful, because there is something to think about and, while I can’t say that I have achieved complete humility, I am on the right path.

In fact, someone who thinks that he has achieved this is already arrogant, this is a quality that can be determined only from the outside, but not from within your soul :)
