Greetings Dear Readers;

.

Hope you are well.

We have an interesting principle today.....'Do not spoil what you have by desiring what you have not.'

We are each sure to have any number of things and/or circumstances to which this principle could apply. Just a simple, superficial illustration could be the flowers from the Garden in the photographs above...Would I be able to enjoy them as well if I pined for those which did not flower....probably not.

I think the principle is presenting the idea that the enjoyment of what we have at the moment is more important, more enjoyable than that which we wish we had but is not there, otherwise we risk spoiling the enjoyment of what we do have.

Let us give this principle a think.

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

.
Kindest Regards,

Beautiful still lifes of asters and chrysanthemums @bleujay, I hope to see this in watercolor.
I must say that you have touched upon a very deep thought that most people do not understand.
Yes, I did not misspeak and will not apologize to anyone if a person takes at least some loans from a bank or somewhere else. There is an opinion that when we take a loan, wanting to get the coveted today, we steal our tomorrow from ourselves, steal from our future, because it has not yet come to us, but there, in the future, the yoke of credit is already waiting for us.
Blessed day to you and your family! :) !BEER

Hi @bluejay, I wish you're having a nice weekend.

Beautiful photos of these lovely flowers, I like it 😍

And thanks for sharing another relatable & insightful life principle. Such a great reminder to appreciate the present and not lose sight of the simple joys we already have!

Greetings @curamax ,

Appreciate hearing your kind words with regard to the post.

It is a good principle indeed....there are other similiar principles as well, however this has a nuance....'Do not spoil what you have'...interesting, by desireing what we do not have...there is the possibility of ruining the enjoyment of what we do have....

Thank you for dropping by. ^__^

Kind Regards,

Bleujay

That is true, my friend, we must enjoy what we have at our disposal at the moment and not be desiring what we do not have. In short, we must always take into account our reality and not pretend to be what we are not.

Greetings @hjrrodriguez ,

Thank you for your kind reply...happy to hear you can appreciate the principle.

This principle has an interesting nuance, that there is the possibility of spoiling, ruining, what we do have by desireing what we do not have.

Kind Regards to the familia, ^__^

You can never desire what you do not have and spoil reality for a bad desire, it is the most immature thing we can do.

Yet it happens all the time...^__^

Yes...quite agree ...'the most immature thing we can do' you said.

Happy Hive Birthday @bleujay
🎉🎈🎂🎉🎈

BTW, may we ask you a favor?

I appreciate the support for the hivebuzz proposal but you also support the Return Proposal (#0), which prevents the proposal from being funded
Can you temporarily remove your vote from the Return Proposal to lower the bar a bit?
It won't affect the Return Proposal effectiveness but it will be helpful to us.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

Thank you for your kind request...

I read the HiveBuzz proposal again...It seems a bit high and a bit too much in the way of increased activiity...I personally would like to see HiveBuzz stay simple and user focused.

I know this is not what any organisation wants to hear....but growing bigger is not neccessarily growing better.

Kindest Regards,

Bleujay

How true is that?

I found myself empowered when introduced to the concept that 'Happiness is a choice' Didn't seem realistic to me when there are so many things that could make a person unhappy. Then, I decided to practice and found I could appreciate the moment more when I was present and thoughtful, and that situational happiness is more a mood...which is indeed under our control.

Living in the moment and choosing happiness includes being happy with what you have. Why spoil that by desiring what we don't have?

Mind you, I use a desire for that which I don't have as fuel to get me off my ass and striving for productivity. I just try and choose appreciation with what I already have at the same time as working to achieve more for me and my family.

Greetings @zekepickleman ,

Thank you for dropping by...and bringing flowers at that....lovely!

So true....I was concerned that I should put a caveat with the Principle that sounded very like the last paragraph of your comment....lest we think the principle implies we should not be motivated... ^__^

For the word 'Happiness'...as a state of mind rather than from temporary stimulation....I use the word 'Contentment'...lest I get carried away..hehe

Kind Regards to you and your family,

Bleujay

Well you're right, the things we currently have might just be better than what we desire that we don't have.

Greetings @josediccus ,

Thank you for dropping by....appreciate it especially knowing you are quite busy...with matters more important, indeed.

What I thought so interesting about this principle....is that the philosopher is pointing out that you could likely spoil, ruin what you do have by pineing for what you do not have. I have really been giving this one a think.

Kind Regards,

Bleujay
