Hope you are well and enjoying fine weather wherever you are.

What an interesting principle we have today....'No one can learn whilst talking.'

It could also be said another way...'You cannot listen and talk at the same time.'

This may seem a bit simplistic, however it is quite true. How many times have we been talking and completely missed what was being said...whether it was something from a film, lecture, class, etc.?

Let's give this Timeless Truth a think....shall we.

The Photographs are of David Austin Roses from Bleujay's Rose garden taken with an iPad Pro.
The Watercolour painting has been published before. The materials used are Saunders Watermark watercolour paper, Daniel Smith Professional Watercolour tube paints and a graphite drawing pencil.

To learn and perform, we must first listen. Doing these two things at the same time is almost impossible. Therefore, when someone is talking to us about something that interests us greatly, we must pay close attention. Happy weekend, my friend, and much success!

Wow! That painting is so beautiful. I love all of it, but that red and white rose is amazing.

The only time I think I learn when I talk is when I am sharing a confidence about some situation I have and when I say it out loud and hear myself say it, all of the sudden the light bulb comes on and I hear myself speak a solution that I did not think of when I was just thinking about it in my head.

I do know what you mean though. It is always better to listen thoroughly. Sometimes I think I'm good at listening and then other times I catch myself not waiting to hear the end before my mind makes it's decision. A little wishy washy maybe, but I never mean not to listen.

The message of redemption and the forgiveness of sin is always my favorite scriptures of the new testament, and I love it so much, thanks for the scriptures again.

As you've said, we're not tailored as humans to talk and listen, because we have only one mind of concentration, and sometimes we can miss out on informations while talking

Fantastic rose with such deep red colour! Your garden must be very beautiful with flowers and special roses.

Yup! I talk too much! I ought to be still and listen more attentively. That’s how I learned as a kid; just listening and thinking and challenging at the same time! Such a rebel! 🙀😂

There are several options for learning when it doesn't work like that, for example, when a person learns vocals, or a certain type of speech pronunciation @bleujay :)

Looking at the first photos, I couldn't imagine how watercolors with these beautiful flowers could look, and after scrolling the browser slider, I saw.... magnificent!
