Jane and Kelvin have been hawking mangoes since their mother died and their father married again. Today, the heat outside is extreme, making it difficult to go outdoors. Afraid of their stepmother’s scolding and beatings, they carry heavy trays, walking on despite hunger, fear, and exhaustion under the burning sun.
