Should you learn multiple skills? If yes, how should it be done?

For a very long time now, people keep asking this same question and here I am again asking and providing my little knowledge as a solution to this question. Should you learn multiple skills? If yes, how should it be done? This is a open publication which means you all are free to comment your different opinions and also feel free to comment on my opinion as well so I can get more clarity and update/upgrade my knowledge as well. Why do you find many young people online who, despite having multiple skills, are financially struggling? They hardly make enough to avoid their basic needs? They feel drained because they are multitasking. For instance, you may find someone who is a:

  1. Content Writer
  2. Data Analyst
  3. Data Vendor
  4. Graphic Designer
  5. Digital Marketer

And so on. However, the person is struggling to make enough money to afford basic needs. Yet, these skills represent industries worth billions of currencies. Why is this the case, and how does it happen?

Tomorrow at 12 noon, I'll drop the update and if I can't, I will make sure I do that before the next week so Don't miss it and come check here on by blog to get the update.

Moving on, Every human is built with the ability to multitask. Yes, it is God's gift to the human condition. It's the same with having multiple skills. You should never have just one skill. But, there's a caveat. Very soon, I shall do a proper exposé on multitasking and how you, my friend, can leverage it for your good. For me, it's boring to do only one thing. The problem, however, with multitasking, like having multiple skills, is that most people don't understand sequence. Your failure to grasp 'sequence' makes you a Jack and a master of none. At best, mediocre. We shall also explore why those who multitask sometimes perform below their installed capacity.

Talk in their language, and you'll win.

The problem is that many business owners do not understand the 'language' of their customers, even though they know the language of their product. The 'language' is the knowledge of product use, not the product features. Everybody knows that your product has a fine package. They know that your product contains collagen, Vitamin C, and E, but how does that help in maintaining skin elasticity and smoothness? They know that you're a graphic designer, but how exactly does hiring a graphic designer translate to more sales? They're not 'really' interested in the big technical jargon; they want to hear it in their language. Talk in their language, and you'll win.

In my opinion, it's better to be a specialist rather than a generalist. Learning multiple skills is good but you can never be better than those who focus on one skill and work on it over time. In the end, people who learn multiple skills are just jacks of all trades and masters of none, the only benefit is that you can work in many fields and that will increase your chances of securing a job because if you can't get a job in one field, you can try other fields

I get your points. Totally right looking at it that way. Thanks Alot @kushyzee for your honest opinion and I will make a publication looking at this angle as well.
