Happy Trading Birthday to me š

Today being the 26th of December, 2025 makes me exactly 4 years on the Hive blockchain and 3 years old in the game of forex trading. This is a double celebration for me and honestly, itās been more than a roller coaster.
But I am going to be talking more on my forex journey where I have made losses, made profits, learned, unlearned, relearned, held on, let go, stayed stuck and moved on. I have bagged a whole lot of experiences š
My emotions have gotten shaped during these years and they are probably still going to undergo some more rigorous training. Although, this milestone doesnāt tell the story of when I started learning the basics of the game (which was about five months after) but it marks the beginning of an exciting journey and I want to use this opportunity to share my first post here in this community as I talk about my journey which began on this day, three years ago š¤.
Trading journey: The trigger to be a trader
My family had just recently relocated to my hometown from the most commercial city in Nigeria and readjusting was a little difficult (in terms of finances). Thankfully my retired parents had built a bungalow which saved us the hassle of renting an apartment but then, I had to complete my higher education and money was needed for tuition fee (plus other expenses).
The bulk load of financing me through my remaining two years in school was something I thought I should help them with (even though it wasnāt going to be much) and so, I thought of earning online. So many online jobs I applied for but none worked out. I tried multiple ways of making a living from the online space but it all seemed like pouring water into a basketā¦.until I met forex trading. I started off with provided signals but then it became more of a losing game than a winning one so I sought out the knowledge instead.
Trading strategy: How I went about it
I paid for an online course and what I got in return were brushed up basic stuffs. I wanted something else. I didnāt like trading with trend lines cuz I ended up bagging more losses than profits.
So an acquaintance of mine (whoās now my pal in the game) introduced me to the SMC (Smart Money Concept) trading strategy and referred to me to ICT (Inner Circle Trader) on YouTube to learn all about it. Honestly, I still count that referral as a huge blessing cuz everything changed when I got a hang of the strategy. Micheal J. Huddleston (shoutout to him, founder of ICT) was a tutor I didnāt deserve. He taught every necessary thing relating to trading and gave in-depth knowledge on price action. His teachings are like āplug in and playā. No extra work needed; just implement what you learn.
Past performances and Future intentions
Well, I have implemented ICTās SMC strategy and I have seen it work. Iām fully immersed in the trading strategy that I know when to be in the market, when not to, what to look out for, what to take and what to leave. Mr. Huddleston would say āeveryday isnāt a trading dayā and I got to understand that as my journey progressed.
Even though I traded four pairs (XAU, EUR/USD, USOIL, ETH/USD), I still end up not taking trades everyday. Some days were the waiting days while some were execution days. Iāve traded live accounts and blown them multiple times, lol. Iāve traded prop firm accounts and failed but Iām not stopping. The problem isnāt with the strategy, itās with my method of handling it.
The average reason why I havenāt scaled so much profit over the years is because of poor management of my emotions. I, most of the time, revenge traded to recover my lost trades which resulted to more losses. Another reason why Iāve made so much loss was because I traded based on FOMO (fear of missing out) instead of just sticking to my trading strategy. These Iāve realized and Iām a āwork in progressā with keeping them in check.
My future intention is simple. I will keep trading live accounts if I get them funded. I will keep trading prop firm accounts if I acquire them. I will keep implementing my strategy. I will keep TRADING.
It feels good to finally get to share this experience with you guys. Iāll be dropping more posts from time to time, showing my progress. I hope I get encouraged by yāall. That will be all for now. Peace yāallāļø
