Sketch study a girl with piercings.

Almost every week I do a sketch study . That was one of my goals to fill up my sketchbook with tons of artworks . Also to practice each and every day . So Today I picked a reference from Pinterest . This sketch study is of a E girl with piercings and I just love the whole E Girl aesthetic .

They really are creative with makeup piercings hair and whole outfit . They also love accessories so that's why I chose this as a reference .

First of all I scribble down the face by seeing the picture and using the circle method then I marked the areas where eyes should b and her head is tilted so I made some guide lines with my 0.7 mechanical pencil. Then I just focused on shapes and negative spaces all together and step by step I kept correcting the proportions . I also for hair made random banana shapes as I saw her strands u don't need to make each strand at all. Then I took my 2h pencil and started darkening the sketch that looked most best with all the features. One thing about 2h pencil is that I use it to make details like outline or lineart because it's harder to erase and smudge while pencils like 2b 4b tend to be more softer graphites mainly used just for shading.

Next I took a 2b pencil to hatch the parts where I wanted shading like her eyes ,hair and sweater .

Now I took a blending stump #2 and blended all the hatching I had did and the dirty stump never goes to waste so I used the excess graphite on it to contour her face . Mainly nose eyes and cheek bones now for the fun part to make it more pop up I made her eyes dark and erased some graphite off the face then I shaded her eyes and eyebrows most because rest of her hair were a lighter color I also at this point focused on her sweater and accessories.

Lastly I added some nuking shadows like under the hair and chin to add more depth to her face and here is the Final result.
