Welcome in this post I want to talk about creativity, I think with the rise of AI especially in regards to the arts that is coming more and more into questions.

Many folks think AI generated art is just stealing from artist and can't possibly create original works.
However I would strongly disagree with those people, and I would challenge their concepts of originality and creativity.

Impossible challenge

I present to you all a universal truth that I welcome anyone to challenge.

It is impossible to create something truly original that is not just a combination of existing elements.

If you feel that is not true here is the challenge I want you to imagine something totally new and original, the only other rules is that it can't be a combination of things , so for instance lets say someone says oh I come up with this thing called a unicorn it is like a magical horse and it has a horn on it's head etc, that would not pass the challenge as it is just a combination.

If anyone manages this impossible challenge their brain should be preserved and studied for generations to come 🤣

I think with all that being considered it is fair to say that creativity is just useful/popular combinations.
It may be a hard pill to swallow that we are not some magical creatures like unicorns, we are not so special and that there is no way what we do can can be emulated or surpassed, the ego gotta protect the host you know how it goes 🤣

AI generated art is not much different from art created by people, folks have to keep in mind what these AI models run on, they use neural networks that essentially act as artificial brain, they may be very powerful and incredibly fast however they still lack efficient structure like their organic counterparts as well as much data that we inherit through our genetics and that we are raised with, that gives us guidelines on what is good and bad, we don't need to go too deep here and so we will keep it focused on the art and creative aspect however this teaching/programing is damn near all encompassing.

Artist have been making copies of famous works and copies styles and being inspired and what not... The AI is doing the same thing and since we are still in the process of teaching it what we like and what is good it makes things we didn't want or expect however that is how new things are often discovered ,even if all these new things are just combinations.

There is some real concerns in regards to AI and the future of work outside of the creative space here, however I think when people bring up points about AI art lacking originality or copying artist, that is not their real gripe it is that one that goes at the heart of things isn't it? Because realistically those points hold no weight, it is just simply a way to fight back but without also taking a psychological hit when accepting the actual truth.
