STOLEN!!!

Fluff

@bitcoinman here, coming at you from the past... what that mean well, I am trying the scheduling function, and working on this post in the morning, it is also a good opportunity to see if the scheduling function/benefactor bug on inleo has been resolved as it would also allow our DUO operation to not be tied down to releasing posts at a certain time and can leverage the use of scheduling, @duo-curator relies on reward app payouts to expedite the divs to our stakers, so I can use this post as the test ground lol.

Anyway lets get into something I am really excited about, and I think it is something dope for the #silvergoldstacker community, Seeing the cool stuff the community owns or buys is fine and dandy and to be honest, low effort content unless you really want to go all out, I mentioned I wanted to try to at least write about precious metals instead of just showing y'all what I buy, this way maybe we can get some more folks into the community.

Without further a due...

Story

So I'm scrolling and I see this headline about a massive silver heist right here in Canada, eh. Almost a million bucks worth of shiny just... gone... lifted from a truck on its way to the Royal Canadian Mint.
And you know what my first thought was? ...Validation.
People will brake the law and pull off a movie-style heist for a truck full of metal dawg. They ain't doin' that for your dog coins or some numbers on a screen. They do it for the real stuff... the hard assets that have had value since the dawn of time. This just proves what ya boy has been saying all along... physical is king.
Although lets be honest this is also a masterclass in counterparty risk. The second that mining company put their silver on someone else's truck, it wasn't really theirs anymore. If you don't hold it, you don't own it. End of story. Someone else is always the weakest link.
Stay safe and keep stackin.

@bitcoinman's bits of wisdom

  • Invest only what you can afford to lose and be mindful of the potential risks.
  • Unless you can accept delivery stay away from futures and stick to physical.
  • Leverage is a great tool for losing money fast.
  • Numismatics for the lows stick to smart stacking baby.
  • Be cautious of new schemes in crypto, like ICOs, DeFi, and NFTs, do your research before investing.

It was a shipment of 3212.5 Troy ounces of silver that was supposed to be delivered to the Royal Canadian Mint. The article doesn't state the how the shipment was lost/stolen/or abducted by aliens. The shipping contractor is Ross and Day, not Canada Post. Yet it's kind of cool that the article listed the lost silver that include an Engelhard 100 troy oz. bar (psst. the serial number) in hopes that someone may recognize it on some craigs-list ad.

Oh yes, the large RCM and Johnson Matthey bars (they should have serial numbers too)

Having personally lost up to 5, count'em FIVE! silver shipments over the years, I have very little faith in our Canadian postage system. In my case the thief I believe is a Canada-post/CBSA insider with access to their routing information stealing high value postage. A close forensic analysis of the chain of possession should reveal the culprit(s).

That is insane! How do they lose five shipments of silver? Absolute insanity! I guarantee some of those employees suddenly had some extra silver in their pockets courtesy of your packages!

That's a pretty brazen heist! Those thieves understand that holding that physical metal in your hand is true ownership. It took some serious balls to pull of that kind of operation!

Wow!! They lost:

7 x 100 oz Royal Canadian Mint bars
1 x 100 oz JBR bar
1 x 100 oz Englehard bar
3 x 100 oz Johnson Matthey bars
2 x 50 oz Johnson Matthey bars
1,375 Silver Maple Leafs, mostly mylar sealed
196 x 2 oz Kraken coins
97 x 1.5 oz Polar Bear coins

That is substantial, @bitcoinman!
