Making some art n stuff : Oh no AI!
Welcome in this post I will share some art I made just for it and also talk about it and the meaning behind it.
So it is no secret that many of us have been relying on AI to generate the images we use in our blog posts some of y'all took it even further and be using AI to write posts, that is not really something that is appreciated on hive and you can end up losing earrings for doing so.
Anyway I don't think anyone really has a gripe with folks using AI to generate images for their post especially if the post is not just that AI image but this got me thinking about AI and artists.
I am an artist too, however the only medium I am truly a master of is creativity 🤣 I personally have no issues with AI generated images I think it is great, making art can be a lot of fun but it can also be a lot of work and effort and sometimes we don't have all that or it seems unjustified to go all out to make an art piece just to serve as a thumbnail and image art for you post that is of course assuming you have the artistic capabilities to do it.
I for one can make some cool stuff but I am very freestyle and abstract with it so using AI to make some art for a post is great!
I do it all time and I love using AI but I also wanted to make a piece for the post, and so I wanted to make something that captures what a lot of artist art going through with AI.
And so I made this piece called Oh no AI
I made it from scratch on my phone using the infinite painter app and then did some more edits in the pixlr app, right bellow is how it looked like before I brought it into pixlr for the finishing touches
Now I know it ain't no master piece but I think it still looks neat, what do you think about it or the topic in general?
I for one can't really harp much about AI art as I use many digital tools and so I am a lot more liberal in that regard
Lots of artist are worried about "cheating" but let me tell you this story I made with the help of AI
A cheating Artist
Pre-mixed reds felt like cheating. My vision needed my crimson, so I started crushing berries. Stained everything. Still felt a bit… artificial.
Berry red felt like cheating. True crimson came from cochineal beetles, I read. So I started… farming tiny bugs. Itchy work. Still didn't feel quite right.
Beetle red felt like cheating. The old masters used ground minerals! Cinnabar, apparently. So I started trying to… ethically source toxic rocks. Concerning. Still felt like a shortcut, somehow.
Cinnabar felt like cheating. Real connection to the earth meant making my own binder, right? So I started boiling tree sap. Sticky. Still felt like I was missing something fundamental.
Now I'm out in the woods, covered in sap, with a bag of potentially poisonous rocks and a faint memory of wanting to paint a sunset. Haven't seen a canvas in months. Pretty sure I've cheated myself out of making any art at all.

I feel AI art as a thumbnail is good if it's just as a thumbnail not that the heart is the main center of the picture I don't know that's just my own thoughts on it
For me even if it is the only image it is ok as long as it's not just the AI image there is some text they made to go along with it, since the blogs can be geared more toward writing the image is just to give it the thumbnail and make a post a bit nicer, now for threads I think the rules are not quite the same
I use AI to illuminate my posts, indeed.
