Monitoring innocent people who aren't even accused of a crime is wrong. It undermines the presumption of innocence, disrespects the ethical principle of good neighborliness, and blatantly violates the 4th Amendment of the US Constitution.

For wallet developers facing this situation: resist compliance. If you don't, expect your business to suffer and endure a miserable year while facing dissatisfied customers.

Switch from the Google Play Store to mobile web PWAs or find other inventive solutions. Perhaps consider discarding your Android device and encourage others to do the same.

Value yourself and your customers. Resist compliance. Avoid being "pragmatic." Since Google has taken this stance, now is your opportunity to react. Take a stand now, if ever.

New policy at Google Play Store enforces AML/KYC on non-custodial wallets in the US, effectively excluding such wallet developers from the Play Store in the EU.

Feels like it got shelved when growth and ad money became the main goal. Which projects do you think still try to stick to it?

Most projects claim they stick to it, but I’m skeptical. Maybe some smaller decentralized ones still try, like those focused on privacy over profit. Haven’t dug deep into specifics tho
