Greylag Goose

I was thinking about taking a photo of this Greylag Goose (Anser anser) and wrote an article about wading through a swamp full of crocodiles and mosquitoes to get a shot of this shy bird.

Ultimately, however, I concluded that there are no crocodiles in the Czech Republic except in zoos, and that no one who has been to the Třeboň region in summer would believe me anyway, as there are plenty of infamous bloodthirsty mosquitoes in South Bohemia.

Well, the goose wasn't shy. I stopped my bike on the pond embankment, knelt down, and took a nice photo from an angle as if I were in a hide. That's why I take pictures in the first place.

Usually, I take pictures of birds from above, either as they float on the water when the road is higher, or from below when they sit in a tree. Otherwise, for iNaturalist, I photograph the family group so you can see how many young there are; I don't worry about the quality.

Above all, your walk and visit to the zoo is really a great inspiration. This special water body and beautiful water body where various animals including crocodiles live. A beautiful swan is sitting on the top of a floating tree. Which is really worth seeing and you have expressed your interest in taking eye-catching pictures. Thank you for sharing your skill in taking such beautiful pictures with such a wonderful background. The animal is really looking at you calmly. I am just following what the animal is thinking and seeing in that beautiful view from afar. But it was very nice to see the swan in such a beautiful open space. I like the openness of animals above all. Thanks for sharing
