Various sounds that irks.

I have a very sensitive hearing and when the sound is loud I get really frustrated and irritated.

Elyas Pasban

There's a stage I will use earpiece and listen to music, my ear and neck area will start paining me. It's even worse when I use airpod.

Before now, if I ignore the pain and keep blasting the music via the earpiece, I end up feeling feverish. I would be wondering the source of the fever till I discovered it's the earpiece then I started being cautious. The moment I feel the pain creeping in, I put off the music and take the earpiece out to avoid story that touches the heart.

One reason I do not go to clubs is because of the loud music, I hate it. The first and last time I went to the club, where I was seated was directly by the speaker, I wanted to run mad and asked my friends if we could change to another location, they refused saying it is the blasting of the speaker that brought us out.

Me in my mind grumbling: You people should have said this thing well, I for dey my dey (I would have declined the invite). I then thought to myself that why would I come out just to create problem for myself? that was the last sha because I said NEVER AGAIN!.

Another sound that I cannot stand is those local grinding machines they use in the market especially the one that grinds dry. Whenever I go to that market section during market shopping, my body chemistry changes and I don't come out the same. I will always wonder how these market women cope in such noise polluted environment without even wearing any ear plugs. I dey always raise hand for them (I always praise them and commend their effort).

Then the most irritating of all sounds to my hearing, is that of the generator, God! that sound has the tendency to limit your productivity level. It's even more annoying as the noise is not just a pollution but its fume which is hazardous to the human health so you see that the generator is a double Jeopardy?.
I have one big one at my backyard that I only turn it on when I want to use my yam pounder and there's no electricity and me using my electric pounder once in every blue moon. The only thing that prompts me to turn on that generator frequently is usually to blend but since my blender got bad, the generator has been chilling.

My friend was one time complaining about how high his electricity bill is and then I drafted the analysis for him between paying a "high electricity" tarrif of Thirty Thousand Naira monthly and enjoy steady power or he pays a cheaper tarrif and be supporting it with petrol to run generator as the electricity will be epileptic.

Mind you, the generator will not fully power the house the way electricity would, not to talk of the peace and quiet you'll be getting after the day's hustle.

I gave him an example, imagine coming back from work tired and exhausted only to get into your neighborhood and the first sound greeting you is generator sound in every corner on top your hard day at work and a full head. You'll be struggling with various generator sounds and you can't even hear yourself think.

After giving him several other analysis especially regarding both cost, I told him if I have the opportunity he has to constant electricity and I need to pay Fifty Thousand Naira montly, I don't mind cutting down on other expenses just so I could afford it. That's how much I value my piece and quiet. One reason I always look forward to going to the village is not just the breath of fresh air and vegetation but for the piece and quiet away from the noisy generator sound that wants to deaf someone in the city.

You see that person that tagged my country generator republic? he hits a bullseye with that title because we are TRULY the generator republic of Africa.

Hehehe 😀 I hate loud noise too. I can't stand beside a generator because of its noise. The market sellers are really trying with those machines oo. When there are too much noises around me, I feel so frustrated and would feel uncomfortable till the noise is down.

These things you mentioned can be disturbing especially the grinding engine and generator, I dislike these two with passion.. especially if I'm not the one using them directly, hahaha

Who likes hearing generator sounds? They're unbearable. But what can we do? We live in countries where we cannot guarantee the stability of light.

I can totally relate with this because I also hate noise and I easily feel traumatized by it when I think about it too much.

Noise is never a good thing even to someone that is not so sensitive to it

That means it's noise that takes you out. You're essentially saying that you don't tolerate loud sounds. Sorry about that dear. I can only imagine the level of your discomfort.
