Movie Review - Final Destination Bloodline.
I first saw the trailer of this movie on Facebook, and what captured my attention to put it on my watchlist was when the protagonist said to her family that "death is coming for us all because we are not meant to exist."
A weighty statement that sparked curiosity and interest in me, and I just had to include it in my watchlist. I was yet to watch it when I saw a good review concerning the movie here on cinetv, and that cemented my resolution to see it.
THE PLOT
A young woman named Iris went on a dinner date with her fiancé. The dinner was at a newly opened restaurant called the Sky View and like the name implies', the structure of the restaurant was built in the sky.
Not only that, but it was made with glass and metal such that while the people were taken up in the elevator, they could see underneath through the glass floor and sides as it went. Indeed, it was such a beautiful structure, quite magnificent too as while inside the restaurant you could see the beautiful ground view. But unfortunately, it was built with substandard materials.
Soon, what ought to be a memorable evening for Iris and her fiancé, was almost a blood bath. But thankfully, Iris had a timely premonition where the building collapsed and they all died horribly.
As soon as she came out of the premonition, she went on to warn everyone in the building to stop the celebration - informing them that the building was going to collapse.
While Iris heroic actions might have saved everyone, it was just her postponing the inevitable as the future of everyone saved that evening came with a price.
#MY THOUGHTS
This is one realistic movie that was carefully captured. Although the graphics were not high quality, it almost messed with my head as I couldn't stop thinking about all the times that the deaths in the movie were carefully plotted and executed.
In fact, I almost could not sleep as I kept pondering on the lessons from this movie. I did a lot of thinking and I had a lot of reflection some of which include the following;
Nature will always win, and sometimes I wonder why we even bother to fight because it's always like a lost battle, where the odds are stacked against us but we fight it anyway.
I know that Iris meant well, but I still feel that she would have just allowed her vision to happen at the time it was supposed to.
That way, there would have been fewer casualties.
I mean, I can't even begin to imagine all those offspring having to die simply because a certain ancestor escaped death and they went on to procreate before death got to them.
You know, it's quite sad that given how the movie ended, Iris's good deed in saving all those people escalated into punishments for them and herself too. I watched her lived misreably and I questioned, why postpone the evil day if you can't beat it?
A must watch really and I am rating it 8/10. If you are a lover of horror and gore, you will love this.
Images were gotten from IMDB, the trailer was gotten from youtube
