I am a feminist, and I believe women are as much human beings as men are. I believe women have as many rights as men have and as many responsibilities as their male counterparts.

I am a feminist and I acknowledge the fact that men and women are not equal and, as such, we all have separate roles to play in the family unit and in the society.

Furthermore, I am a feminist and what a man can do, I cannot do better because it's not a competition and I do not wish to play a man's role while I have mine.

Every so often, when we get too passionate about something, we tend to lose focus on the main goal, especially when our emotions override our better judgement.

The moment we get emotional about anything, we get desperate and in that desperation stems violence, which is what we are gradually seeing with some people's ideology of feminism.

I like to look at feminism from 3 different perspectives which will be discussed briefly.

SOCIETY

When we talk about feminism, in my opinion, we are talking about a better life for the girl child, where she gets to be free and, at the same time, be responsible for her actions.

To me, both men and women should be judged equally for the same actions done. There should be no gender exception.

EMPLOYMENT

I said earlier that men and women are not equally. Biologically, women are on the disadvantaged side of life.

We deal with period, we deal with ovulation, we deal with childbirth, and then we deal with nursing of our children.

Motherhood is a natural thing and as much as our partners would assist, they can never go all out like we women do in the motherhood journey.

Given our situation as women, we should each take up Job roles according to our strength and capacity.

I feel there are jobs meant for women, jobs meant for men, and then there are jobs that both genders can do.

Again, in my opinion, a woman should not be doing jobs that take so much physical strength. A woman should not work hard but smart and there are conditions like pregnancy mostly where a woman just needs to rest and be taken care off.

FAMILY

In my part of the world, value has been tied to money, such that who brings money is considered the only one contributing to the family. But then, if you look at it critically from what value actually means, women do a lot to keep the family unit whole.

It is part of the feminist movement for women to be appreciated in the homes.

A career woman who earns is not in any way better than a housewife who takes care of her home.

A woman is never useless, actually we are the table whether we work to contribute financially to the home or we are engaging in unpaid labor in the likes of caregiving, housekeeping, and errands.
