Beyond This Life, Exploring Karmic Connections - LOH #242

THE PROMPT

A mystical and powerful being offers you the chance to reincarnate, but you must choose between two options: the first is to keep the memories of your past life but without meeting the same people again. The second option is to forget everything but find the same people around you reincarnated just like you. Which would you choose and why?

I was chatting with a friend today whom I haven't spoken to in a while. We used to be really close, and we'd share our knowledge on mysticism. But at some point she just went off the redial.

For a long time I didn’t hear from her until recently when I logged into Facebook; I saw that she got married, which was a thing of joy for me.

So today, as we spoke, catching up on old times, I brought up her marriage and congratulated her. It was at that moment we dived into mysticism, and we spoke about past lives, reincarnation, and karma.

Apparently I had thought she married her ex, but she said they broke up after the relationship got too toxic. According to her, she met her husband a year after her relationship with her ex ended, and they got married within that same year.

As she narrated her ordeal with her ex, I was quick to recognize the patterns and pointed out how everything she went through was karmic. More so, since she has resolved the karmic tie with the ex, she was ready to move on; hence, the relationship ended, and she met her husband.

I do understand that not everyone subscribes to the ideology of past lives, reincarnation, and karma (the triplet). In fact, while my friend narrated how she was betrayed by her ex in a past life experience she had via dream, she paused to ask me if I think she’s crazy.

Well, as someone who has had her fair share of experience with the triplets, I assured her that she wasn’t crazy, as I understood exactly everything that she was trying to communicate with me.

I once dated someone I had nothing but hatred for. I couldn’t place where the animosity was coming from until I had a past life experience via dream.

In the dream, I saw how my ex and I were married, much to the displeasure of his family. While I thought he loved me well enough to go against his family, he soon abandoned me while I was heavily pregnant.

I awoke from that experience with the lingering pain, of which I understood immediately the source of the hatred. Thus, with my principle of opposite action, I replaced the hate that I felt with love. And even when we separated, we remained good friends till date.

In my friend's own experience, she and her ex were not only lovers but warriors who fought together in a previous life.

According to my friend, her ex betrayed her in that lifetime by leaking their battle plan to the enemy. And as they fought, they were soon ambushed by archers from the enemy unit.

Overwhelmed with guilt, my friend’s ex took an arrow for her. While he took his last breath in her arms, she got shot by another arrow. That was how they both ended that lifetime dying together.

To further prove that she was certain about what she had experienced, she went on to tell that they both got some sort of birthmark on their body at the exact spot where the arrow had pierced through in that lifetime.

Meanwhile, given both our experiences, one thing that we had in common was becoming aware of the karmic ties that we shared with our exes. A knowledge that we tapped into, which of course gave us the needed awareness to resolve the existing conflicts (karma) which has been lingering lifetimes upon lifetimes.

I’d dare say that if the experiences hadn’t come, we would never have moved on because, really, there’s no moving on from what you’ve not resolved.

Thus, given the Ladies of Hive prompt above and my experiences all together, I’d rather keep the memories and never cross paths with the people again.

Do note that hatred is not the drive why I do not intend to cross path. But the fact that knowledge is power, and I wouldn’t want to go through life ignorantly. I also do not ever want to be in a situation where all I do is ask questions without ever getting a response.

Again, I want to be able to trace the root cause of my problems so that I can solve them. One thing I’ve come to realize is that Life is “karmically” driven, and everyone we meet has one or two lessons to teach us.

The question is, how do we learn without the needed knowledge to identify patterns? Well, like failed courses and carryovers, it will just be a repetitive cycle of pain, agony, anguish, and probably a little happiness as a side dish.

Knowledge can be a double-edged sword, you have to know how to choose between learning the lessons and not holding grudges but rather learning 😊

According to my friend, her ex betrayed her in that lifetime by leaking their battle plan to the enemy. And as they fought, they were soon ambushed by archers from the enemy unit.

Reading this made me feel giddy because her dream felt like a plot from a fantasy-romance novel. The moment I read that in the end, her ex took the arrow—ahhh my favorite tragedy! Anyway setting that aside, yes knowledge is really powerful, and like you, I also chose the first option which is to keep the memories. Not that I hate the people around me, but rather it's the opposite, I love them so much that I don't want them to meet me anymore.

Why? Because I think that unfair to them to experience the repetitive cycle of pain, agony, anguish, and probably a little happiness as a side dish I've brought to them. Also I wanted to improve myself further and I know I'm bound to experience some similar ordeals I have in my past life, so I would rather have the memories than have those people important to me suffering again...

That situation of dying together fighting is far better than being accused a witch and burned at the stake in fifteenth century England, should the dream I had long ago is true. It may explain why I'm a fire safety freak. 😬

Ahahaha that's definitely better...I mean dying alone just because people find knowledgeable women as a threat to their fragile egos was really really a bad end. That's a weird yet cool dream... because at some point in my childhood, I wanted to be a witch but when I grew up and discovered that they were burned at the stake before, I withdrew from that dream haha

Oh, being cautious has perks tho, so it's kinda fine you're concerned about fire safety...but I don't know if being overly concerned about it is ok (?maybe as long as it didn't keep you up all night?)

Ouch! I can imagine how terrifying that must be especially when you are being ratted out by a loved one. The dream could be a past life experience especially if it has or plays significant influence in your present life.

That’s the thing with most past lives experiences, they always look like they were spun from Romance novel lol. Possibly the romance novel that we read although it’s stated fiction could maybe be the past life experience of others.

And, I love that we are standing on the same option. Basically, our options would be influenced by our experiences.

Yes! I never thought that way before, but that could be a possible reason. Life before mostly ends in tragedy and maybe those are really past life experiences penned and not just purely out of imagination. Perhaps the way those emotionally resonate much with us is because we've already experienced it before.

And thank you! I'm also happy that we chose the same option. Indeed it's the experiences that greatly influenced my decisions.
