Beauty, Atmosphere and Dry season

Currently, in Nigeria, we are in summer lol…. Actually, let me say it like a Nigerian, we are in the dry season.

The season of sun, the season where you wash your cloth, and you are sure of it drying that day the moment you spread it outside.

You are sure of your laundry smelling fresh and not that you need to continue drying it inside and sometimes having it smell like rotten milk. This is for those of us who do not have the luxury of owning a washer and a dryer.

The season where the atmosphere is gay and the surroundings beautiful, the season where I get to wear skimpy clothes and show off my hot legs @abenad respectfully avoid me.

This is actually my favorite time of the year because I can go out and take fantastic photos of me. I get to dress beautifully from my house and still maintain steeze while I'm out without the rain ruining my outfit or my shoes by getting them wet.

It is also the time when I don't fall sick because I am in a toxic relationship with cold which means the moment the weather gets dark; the wind blows for rain, my health deteriorates. It also means I can't consume cold liquid or bath in cold water, else I land myself in the ICU.

In Nigeria we sort of border between two weather. The raining season which span from April to October and then the dry season which spans from November to March.

Since the beginning of this year, it's been raining cat and dog, which means crops gets to stay hyderated to produce food and this is the most vital part of the raining season that I dare not hate or condemn.

One fascinating thing about this is that, it rained more in the Southern part of Nigeria than in the North.

Usually when it rains, and I tell my friend residing in the North about it, she'll go God when? And go further to tell me how she would do anything just for a little drop of rain as it's burning at her end and the heat wave almost unbearable.

I at my end would be wishing for the Sun as I could no longer stomach the excessive rain and the ill health it brings for me.

For a while now, my daughter and I have been postponing ice-cream Sunday until we could get a little sun so we can actually enjoy our ice-cream without me being attacked by the flu.

Currently, we are experiencing what is called the August break. A time in August where we experience lots of sun and a break from the rain.

My Mom has been wishing for the August break to last two weeks so we'd just get two weeks of rain, then battle one month of rain in September before we migrate to the dry season proper in October, that's if global warming does not shift the natural order of things.

Hopefully, my daughter and I will seize this moment for lots of ice-cream Sundays.

As life progresses, global warming becomes a glaring reality, for us all. As much as some people want to tag it a myth, it becomes an unavoidable situation and circumstance, as we see seasons change and distorted. We get double the effect of the weather on our environment and our daily living. When it rains, it does so heavily, causes flood with extreme cold and when it's hot, you'd almost go naked.

If I get to choose a second favourite, it will be the Harmattan season which usually starts from December.

The season with dry wind and cold that pierces through the bone. Regardless, anything aside rain I'm good despite having the same health challenges.

Unfortunately, thanks to global warming we do not get Harmattan until February at least that was happened this year.

I only hope we could get a cleaner and safer approach to energy consumption that will not be detrimental to the ozone layer and our planet.

We got just one home, and that's the earth, we should take care of it.

Wait, did you say you're in summer? And we're battling with rain here.

That leg is legging oo, only if you had taken up modeling instead of allowing it go to waste.
That ice cream is actually calling my name.
Just like you, I don't like the too much rain cos of the cold. Even the harmattan, no no. I usually cover up like the Eskimos 🤣🤣.

I prefer the rainy season to the other.

I forgot there's something like August break, I've been wondering why it hasn't rained heavily for some days now.

Thanks for sharing
