For me, parks are so essential in our city. They have that essence that allows us to feel like we're surrounded by nature, amidst all the asphalt and concrete! I'm bringing you today's experience. We're going to visit one of the oldest parks in central Lisbon. It dates back to no less than 1870, when our country was still a MONARCHY. I'll also take this opportunity to give you some tips about Benfica.🌍🗺️

Les traigo la experiencia del día de hoy, vamos a visitar uno de los parques más antiguos del casco central de Lisboa, data nada más y nada menos que de 1870 o sea cuando aun nuestro país era una MONARQUIA, también aprovecharé para darle algunos consejos de Benfica.🌻🚩

The park (Mata do Benfica) is located in the center of Lisbon, right in the parish of Benfica, right next to the subway. If you're one of those travelers who doesn't like trails and "wild" nature, this is the closest you'll get to the forests of Portugal. The park's construction actually features small niches adapted to the region's climate.🧭🚩

The park is considered one of the oldest in Portugal, built in 1880 during the reign of King Ludwig I. It was previously private property, specifically a country estate. The park was built to decorate the surroundings of the estate and beautify the area. In 1911, the owner of Lisbon City Hall bought the property and made it public so everyone could visit the space. At the entrance, we highlight a stone figure in homage to the painter: "Silva Porto."🗺️🚩
El parque es considerado uno de los más antiguos de Portugal construido en 1880 en el mandato del rey Luis I, anteriormente era propiedad privada, más específicamente una quinta, se construyo el parque para decorar los alrededores de la quinta y embellecer el lugar, en 1911 el dueño del ayuntamiento de Lisboa compro la propiedad y la volvió pública para que todas las personas pudieran visitar el espacio. En la entrada destacamos una figura en piedra en homenaje del pintor: "Silva Porto"⛲🌻

I was with my family and a baby, so if you come on vacation to the area, I recommend bringing your children to play on the swing. It's the only one that exists for several kilometers around, so it's incredible. From here we can have an image of the entire city of Benfica, and on the north side we can see the "Monsanto" park.🌍👩🏻🏫
Yo estaba con mi familia y una bebe por ello si vienes de vacaciones por la zona te recomiendo traer a tus hijos a jugar al columpio, es el único que existe varios kilometros a la redonda por ello es increible, desde aquí podemos tener una imagen de toda la ciudad de Benfica y de lado norte podemos ver el parque "monsanto"🗺️🚩

We will possibly pass by the church "Nossa Senhora de Amparo" unfortunately for me it was closed but it is very pretty from the outside and deserves a stop and a photograph, it is one of the oldest in the center of Lisbon and was built in the 15th century, since that time several baptisms of local citizens were recorded, mainly the baroque style stands out.⛲🚩
Vamos posiblemente a pasar por la iglesia "Nossa senhora de Amparo" para mi mala suerte estaba cerrada pero es muy bonita por fuera merece una parada y una fotografía, es una de las más antigua del centro de Lisboa y fue construida en el siglo XV, ya desde esa época se registraron varios bautizos a ciudadanos locales, principalmente se destaca el estilo barroco.🧭🌍
This is a short post to show you the things that are around the park, since you are surrounded by many points of interest, I recommend you visit the Colombo shopping center, it is one of the largest in Portugal, I leave these places for your information in case you come on vacation to Portugal and stay in the surroundings.🚩⛲

Yes, parks are really important in the city. Not only is it used for relaxation or for play, but it adds to the aesthetic view of the city or place.
I like the oldest park, as a person who loves ancient, this is perfect for me. The surroundings too are giving a peaceful view and it gives fresh air to breath. And yes, it's perfect for children, they can play around enjoying the moment. Also, the church "Nossa Senhora de Amparo," stands out and of course the Colompo shopping center reminds me of the small gallery in our city that displays varieties of pieces of artwork.
