Ramadan (Sugar) Feast / Ramazan (Şeker) Bayramı

Hello everyone. I hope you are well and everything is fine. Yesterday was the last day of Ramadan. As I said the other day, it passed very quickly and we reached the Ramadan feast. Although I am working, we are trying to live the feast with joy. You can think of this holiday as a gift for a month of Ramadan. As a matter of fact, people meet with their families and spend good times.
I think it is the children who welcome Eid al-Fitr with joy and are the happiest. So much so that they receive Eid allowance and gifts from their elders. I remember the days of Eid when I was young. The day before, I could not sleep from joy and excitement. My relatives and friends coming from afar would increase my joy and cheerfulness.

Herkese merhaba. Umarım iyisinizdir ve her şey yolundadır. Dün ramazan ayının son günüydü. Geçen gün de dediğim gibi çok hızlı geçti ve Ramazan bayramına kavuştuk. Her ne kadar çalışıyor olsam da bayramı sevinçle yaşamaya çalışıyoruz. Bu bayram bir aylık ramazan ayının hediyesi gibi düşünebilirsiniz. Nitekim insanlar aileleri ile buluşup güzel vakitler geçiriyor.
Ramazan bayramını sevinçle karşılayan ve en çok mutlu olan sanırım çocuklar. Öyle ki büyüklerinden bayram harçlığı ve hediyeler alıyorlar. Küçükken bayram günlerini hatırlıyorum. Bir gün öncesi sevinçten, heyecandan uyuyamazdım. Uzaktan gelen akrabalarım, dostlarım sevincimi ve neşemi artırırdı.

When we woke up in the morning, we would go to the mosque with my father and then we would have a general Eid celebration. Then we would visit the grave and have breakfast as a family. After a good breakfast, we would celebrate Eid as a family and my mother and father would give Eid allowance. Then we would visit our familiar neighbours. Most of them would give us candy along with the Eid allowance. We would put the candy in a bag and save it.
We would buy toys, ice cream, chocolate with the pocket money we saved. Eid was really much better back then. There is a general opinion that the flavour of the old holidays is gone. I agree with this view, but as I said before, since we experienced all the good feelings as children, perhaps the taste of the holidays has remained in the past with us.
One of the importance of holidays is remembering the elderly and orphans. Even saying hello and asking how they are doing makes them feel good.

Sabah uyanınca babamla birlikte camiye gider ardından genel bir bayramlaşma yapardık. Ardından mezar ziyareti yapıp ailecek kahvaltı yapardık. Güzel bir kahvaltının ardından ailecek bayramlaşırdık ve annem babam bayram harçlığı verirdi. Sonra tanıdık komşularımızı ziyaret ederdik. Çoğu bayram harçlığının yanında şeker verirdi. Verilen şekerleri poşete koyup biriktirirdik.
Biriktirdiğimiz harçlıklarla oyuncak, dondurma, çikolata alırdık. Bayram gerçekten o zamanlar çok daha iyiydi. Eski bayramların tadı kalmadı diye genel bir düşünce var. Bu görüşe katılıyorum ancak az önce de dediğim gibi bütün güzel duyguları çocukken yaşadığımız için belki de bayramların tadı bizle birlikte eskide kaldı.
Bayramların önemlerinden birisi de yaşlıların ve kimsesizlerin hatırlanması. Selam verip hal ve hatırlarını sormak bile emin olun onları iyi hissettiriyor.
