Istanbul/Beykoz Glass Museum— İstanbul/Beykoz Cam Müzesi

Hello everyone, I hope you are well and everything is going smoothly.
As I mentioned before, I am very interested in museums and historical sites. Whenever I get the chance, I go to explore places I have discovered or that have been recommended to me. I have been living in Istanbul for about 2.5 years, and there are countless museums and historical sites in this city. Therefore, one of the most advantageous things Istanbul has given me is this.

Daha önce de bahsettiğim gibi müzelere, tarihi yerlere oldukça fazla ilgi duyuyorum. Fırsat buldukça keşfettiğim ya da tavsiye edilen yerleri gezmeye gidiyorum. Yaklaşık 2.5 yıldır İstanbul’da yaşıyorum ve bu şehirde sayısızca müze, tarihi yerler bulunuyor. Dolayısıyla İstanbul’un bana kattığı en avantajlı durumlardan birisi bu.

Today we will take a trip to the glass museum in Beykoz.
After making plans with my wife and friends, we set off around noon. Without getting too caught up in Istanbul traffic, we reached the glass museum in about 20 minutes.

Bugün sizlerle birlikte Beykoz’da bulunan cam müzesine yolculuğa çıkacağız.
Eşim ve arkadaşlarla birlikte plan yaptıktan sonra öğlen vakitlerinde yola çıktık. İstanbul trafiğine çok fazla takılmadan yaklaşık 20 dakika sonra cam müzesine ulaştık.

After getting out of the car, I felt like I was in the Black Sea. The clean air and abundant greenery made me forget the chaos of city life, at least for a moment. We walked through the trees surrounding the walking path and reached the museum. If I remember correctly, the four of us paid around 300 lira for the tickets and went inside.

Araçtan indikten sonra kendimi Karadeniz’de gibi hissettim. Temiz hava ve bol yeşillik şehir hayatının karmaşasını bir nebze de olsa unutturdu. Yürüyüş yolunu çevreleyen ağaçların arasından yürüyüp müzeye ulaştık. Yanlış hatırlamıyorsam 4 kişi 300 Lira gibi bir ücret ödeyip biletleri aldık ve içeri girdik.

I had visited many museums in Istanbul before, but this one really impressed me with its structure. Frankly, I didn't expect it to be this big. We had the opportunity to visit perhaps 8-10 different rooms and examine various works of art. So it was definitely worth the money we paid :))

İstanbul’da daha önce birçok müzeye gitmiştim ancak burası yapısı itibariyle beni çok etkiledi. Açıkçası bu kadar büyük olacağını da beklemiyordum. Belki de 8-10 farklı odaya girip çeşitli eserleri inceleme fırsatımız oldu. Dolayısıyla verdiğimiz parayı sonuna kadar hak etti :))

Not only the exhibited works but also the museum's interior architecture was quite interesting. Since it was a weekday, it wasn't very crowded. We walked around comfortably inside.

Sadece sergilenen eserler değil aynı zamanda müzenin iç mimarisi de oldukça ilgi çekiciydi. Hafta içi olduğundan dolayı çok fazla kalabalık değildi. İçerde rahat rahat gezdik.

Before coming to the museum, I thought they would display simple things made of glass, but I was wrong. Seeing works I could never have imagined made me even more astonished. Alongside decorative items, works that could be used in everyday life, works that made people's lives easier, and many more greatly impressed me.

Müzeye gelmeden önce içerde camdan yapılan basit şeylerin sergilendiğini düşünüyordum ancak yanıldım. Aklıma dahi gelmeyecek eserleri görünce şaşkınlığım daha da çok arttı. Süs eşyalarının yanında gündelik hayatta kullanılabilecek, insanların yaşamını kolaylaştıran eserler ve daha niceleri beni fazlasıyla etkiledi.

While walking through the sections with glass works, the stained glass windows caught my attention. Seeing the works from the past made me think that today's works are more artificial. People really put a lot of effort into them in the past. I wish today's works could show the same care.

Cam eserlerin olduğu bölümleri gezerken vitraylı pencereler dikkatimi çekti. Geçmişteki eserleri görünce günümüzdekilerin daha yapmacık olduğunu düşünmeye başladım. İnsanlar geçmişte gerçekten çok emek vermişler. Keşke günümüzdekiler de aynı özeni gösterebilseler.

After spending about 40 minutes inside, the lights started to hurt my eyes. I think that was the worst part of the day. The lighting was too bright, making the works appear brighter and more vivid.

İçerde yaklaşık 40 dakika kadar vakit geçirdikten sonra ışıklar gözlerimi ağrıtmaya başladı. Sanırım o günün en olumsuz yanı buydu. Eserlerin daha parlak ve canlı görünmesi için ışıklandırma çok fazlaydı.

After going outside, we explored the surroundings a bit. Rabbits and peacocks running around almost everywhere in the garden brightened up the atmosphere. The children were particularly fascinated by the rabbits. The rabbits must have gotten used to people because they didn't run away.

Dışarı çıktıktan sonra etrafı biraz keşfettik. Bahçenin hemen hemen her tarafında koşturan tavşanlar, tavus kuşları ortamı neşelendiriyordu. Özellikle çocuklar tavşanlara çok fazla ilgi duyuyordu. Tavşanlarda insanlara alışmış olmalı ki kaçmıyorlardı.

After leaving the museum area, we sat down at a municipal café nearby, had some tea, and chatted.
We left a little while later to avoid the evening traffic. I can say I had a very full day. It was a particularly wonderful day for my wife.

Müzenin olduğu alandan ayrıldıktan sonra yakın civarda bulunan belediyeye ait bir cafede oturup çay içip sohbet ettik.
Akşam trafiğine kalmamak için bir müddet sonra ayrıldık. Dolu dolu bir gün geçirdiğimi söyleyebilirim. Özellikle eşim için çok güzel bir gün oldu.
