Beşiktaş-Yıldız Hamidiye Mosque/Cami 🕌

Hello everyone, I hope you are well and everything is fine.
I haven't shared a travel post for a long time, I think it's time now. 😅
In fact, the term I was not sharing is not very accurate, I could not travel to many different places in winter due to weather conditions and business life, so I could not share. It is appropriate to say that I am looking forward to the summer. 😄
Today I had a short-term job in Beşiktaş. After I finished my business, I visited the Hamidiye mosque next to the Yıldız Palace.

Aslında paylaşmıyordum tabiri de çok doğru değil. Hava şartları ve iş hayatından dolayı kışın çok fazla gezemedim dolayısıyla paylaşım da yapamadım. Yazın gelmesini dört gözle bekliyorum desem yeridir. 😄
Bugün Beşiktaş’ta kısa süreli bir işim vardı. İşimi hallettikten sonra Yıldız Sarayının yanında bulunan Hamidiye camini ziyaret ettim.

I had visited the Yıldız Palace before, but I guess I hadn't shared a post. I noticed this mosque much later in a series and took it among my notes. It was very good to visit and discover a place I hadn't seen when I had the opportunity. If I had more time, I would visit the Palace again and share both together.
Let's come to the mosque... To be honest, when I first saw the historical building, I thought it was a different structure rather than a mosque. You will understand what I mean when you look at the photos. It is of course a good thing that the mosque looks so different. The fact that the mosque is the subject of films or that some episodes of the series are shot here supports my opinion.

Yıldız Sarayını daha önce ziyaret etmiştim ancak sanırım post paylaşımı yapmamıştım. Bu camiyi çok daha sonradan bir dizi de fark ettim ve notlarım arasına almıştım. Fırsatını bulmuşken görmediğim bir yeri ziyaret etmek, keşfetmek çok iyi oldu. Zamanım fazla olsaydı Sarayı da tekrardan gezip ikisini birlikte paylaşırdım.
Gelelim camiye… Açık konuşmak gerekirse tarihi yapıyı ilk gördüğümde camiden ziyade farklı bir yapıya benzettim. Fotoğraflara bakınca ne demek istediğimi anlayacaksınız. Caminin bu denli farklı görünmesi elbette güzel bir şey. Caminin filmlere konu olması ya da dizilerde bazı bölümlerin burada çekilmesi, düşüncemi destekler nitelikte.

The fact that the mosque was built on a large area and that it was easy to reach on foot from the street were other factors that impressed me. At the same time, I never got tired while visiting both the outside and the inside of the mosque. It was not crowded because it was not prayer time. There were 3-4 other people inside the mosque besides me.

Caminin geniş bir alana yapılmış olması ve caddeden yürüyerek ulaşımının kolay olması beni etkileyen diğer unsurlardı. Aynı zamanda hem caminin dışını hem de içini gezerken hiç yorulmadım. Namaz vakti olmadığı için kalabalık değildi. Caminin içinde benden başka 3-4 kişi daha vardı.

Firstly, I walked around the mosque. Different kinds of trees surrounded the mosque as if they were protecting it. It looked really beautiful.
Unlike other mosques, the fact that it had a structure resembling a square or rectangle was also remarkable. It is a clear example of the importance given to buildings in the Ottoman period.

İlk önce caminin etrafını boydan boya turladım. Farklı türdeki ağaçlar camiyi sarmış sanki koruyorlardı. Gerçekten çok güzel görünüyordu.
Diğer camilerden farklı olarak kare ya da dikdörtgeni andıran bir yapısının olması da dikkat çekiciydi. Osmanlı döneminde yapılara önem verildiğinin açık bir örneği.

Let's come to the interior of the mosque. Each point is a different detail. It was aesthetically, artistically marvellous. The fact that the engravings were so dense had a spiritually relaxing effect rather than tiring people. I can say that I was the most impressed place after Hagia Sophia.
The arches, the size and shapes of the windows and even the chandeliers were quite harmonious with the harmony of the mosque as a whole.

Gelelim caminin iç kısmına. Her noktası ayrı bir detay. Estetik olarak, sanatsal anlamda müthişti. İşlemelerin bu kadar yoğun olması insanı yormaktan ziyade manevi olarak rahatlatıcı bir etkisi vardı. Ayasofya’dan sonra en çok etkilendiğim mekan diyebilirim.
Kemerler, pencerelerin boyutu ve şekilleri hatta avizeler bile caminin bütününü ele aldığımızda ahengi ile oldukça uyumluydu.

After leaving the mosque, I took a short walk in the nearby Yahya Kemal park. Since it was early, it was not too crowded. I sat alone in the huge park and watched the surroundings accompanied by the sounds of birds and pigeons. It was like a short therapy. 😄
From time to time, I mention the difficulties of living conditions in Istanbul, but when I see such beautiful places, I forget what I said very quickly. 😄

Camiden çıktıktan sonra hemen yakınında bulunan Yahya Kemal parkının içinde kısa bir yürüyüş yaptım. Erken saatler olduğu için çok fazla kalabalık değildi. Kocaman parkta tek başıma oturarak kuş ve güvercin sesleri eşliğinde etrafı izledim. Kısa bir terapi tadında oldu. 😄
Zaman zaman İstanbul’da hayat şartlarının zorluklarına değiniyorum ancak böyle güzel yerleri görünce söylediklerimi çok çabuk unutuyorum. 😄

Although my time was limited, I had a coffee in a nearby cafe with the thought that it would be good to have a nice coffee on top of these beautiful places, I have no regrets. 😄
It was a good day for me. If you are interested in historical places, I definitely recommend you to visit. It will be enough to spend 1-1.5 hours to Hamidiye mosque together with Yıldız palace.

Zamanım sınırlı olmasına rağmen bu güzel yerlerin üstüne güzel bir kahve içmek iyi gider düşüncesiyle yakında bulunan bir cafede kahve içtim, hiç pişman değilim. 😄
Benim için güzel bir gün oldu. Tarihi mekanlara ilginiz varsa mutlaka ziyaret etmenizi tavsiye ederim. Yıldız sarayı ile birlikte Hamidiye camine 1-1.5 saat vakit ayırmanız yeterli olacaktır.
