I got a recommendation to check out the movie G20 by @phyna in her post here and I'm glad I did. I kicked my weekend off with a brisket sandwich and a good drink, I pulled up my Prime Video and enjoyed a pretty solid film in G20.

I watched the movie with a friend on Discord. Outside of the recommendation on Hive I had heard good things about the movie so I'm glad I found a little time to check out the movie for myself.

As you see in the trailer the movie is an action movie based around the the G20 summit. The story follows President Danielle Sutton as the main character as she fights off terrorists attempting to bring chaos to the leaders attending the Summit.

The movie highlights women's leadership roles, with a lot of guys in the film playing in the background. But even though there were a lot of "girl power" themes in the movie, it still felt like an action movie.

There was also a big focus on Bitcoin in the film which was pretty interesting. They didn't demonize the tech but they did go for the tropes of Bitcoin being only used by "bad guys", "conspiracy theorists", and "pump and dumper" types. But it's still cool Bitcoin in movies nowadays nonetheless.

Overall the movie was good. They show moments of the president dealing with issues that normal people might face while still needing to be strong in a leadership role. There are elements of leaning on the family for support and betrayal by friends that help make the film relatable even though we'll probably never be president or in attendance at a G20 Summit.

There were times in the movie when characters did things that I felt didn't make sense and I felt the film ended kind of abruptly but those were my only big critiques of the movie. And I say that understanding that they might not have had the budget of bigger movies that you might watch in theatres.

But even with those critiques, G20 is a good film. I felt like I was entertained for the time I spent watching a movie at home on Prime Video. If I had to give the movie a rating, I'd rate the movie G20
