My father is self-taught and I think of him as a person who has not stood still, he has done many different things in his life. But your dad wanting to start a new phase may not be a bad thing, it's new experiences and opportunities.

Yeah my dad has done a lot of things in his life and career, all in the same field and with the same company but it comes to a point where you have to move on. It's not easy but it's important and empowering to have the resume built out so you can take it to other job applications if you want to.
