Review of Like Mother, Like Daughter (ENG/SPA)
Hello, people of the Internet, everything alright? Today I want to share with you a webtoon that I'm reading and that I find quite interesting and, although I haven't finished it, I'm already starting to tie it up and I have a feeling that the ending will be quite good and with a surprise plot twist.
Hola, gente de Internet, ¿todo bien? Hoy quiero compartirles un webtoon que estoy leyendo y que me parece bastante interesante y es que, si bien no lo he terminado, ya estoy empezando a atar cabos y presiento que el final será bastante bueno y con un giro de trama sorpresivo.
The series is based on the story of a controlling mother and her daughter, whose youngest son (a rather free-spirited child but whom the mother labels a rebel) dies in "strange circumstances". The daughter is sure that the mother had something to do with it, as the son was a hindrance to their perfect lives, and so the daughter hatches a plan to take revenge on her mother by making her pay for the crime she is sure she committed.
La serie se basa en la historia de una madre controladora y su hija, cuyo hijo menor (un niño más bien libre pero que la madre tacha de rebelde) muere en "extrañas circunstancias" la hija, está segura de que la madre tuvo algo que ver ya que el hijo representaba un estorbo en sus vidas perfectas, es así como la hija traza un plan para vengarse de su madre haciéndola pagar por el crimen que está segura que cometió.
The structure of the story is very good, it grabs you from moment one, and although it can get a bit confusing at times, if you have a sharp mind and are aware of the details, it is very likely that you will even come to conclusions beyond what is shown at first glance (in fact I'm at a point where I'm already tying up loose ends and I think I know what the plot twist will be, although I won't say it to avoid spoilers).
La estructura de la historia es muy buena, te atrapa desde el momento uno, y aunque a veces puede hacerse un poco confuso, si tienes una mente aguda y estás al pendiente de los detalles, es muy probable que incluso llegues a conclusiones más allá de lo que se muestra a simple vista (de hecho estoy en un punto en el que ya estoy atando cabos y creo saber cual será el giro de trama, aunque no lo diré para evitar spoilers)
I love the personalities of the characters and their development, they are all quite different from each other, but Som is the most interesting of them all (the protagonist) because she is a sociopathic, manipulative and controlling girl who does whatever or manipulates situations in her favour to get what she wants, it's interesting as well as creepy.
Me encantan las personalidades de los personajes y su desarrollo, todos son bastante distintos entre sí, pero Som es la más interesante de todos (la protagonista) porque es una chica sociópata, manipuladora y controladora que hace lo que sea o manipula las situaciones a su favor para obtener lo que quiere, es interesante como escalofriante.
It is quite interesting to see how Som manipulates everything, she is too smart and cunning, so she is always one step ahead of everything. There is one situation that gets confusing and that is that although at the beginning Som the "daughter" seems to be a girl manipulated by her mother who rules her in everything, literally in everything, as time goes by Som seems to turn into her mother, becoming as calculating and manipulative as her, hence the title "Like father, like son" although also as I said before, I have a hypothesis of "Som's personality change".
Es bastante interesante ver como Som manipula todo, es demasiado inteligente y astuta, así que suele siempre estar un paso más adelante de todo. Hay una situación que se torna confusa y es que aunque al inicio Som la "hija" parece ser una chica manipulada por su madre la cual la rige en todo, literalmente en todo, con el paso del tiempo Som parece ir convirtiéndose en su madre, volviéndose tan calculadora y manipuladora como ella, de allí el título "De tal palo, tal astilla" aunque también como dije antes, tengo una hipótesis del "cambio de personalidad de Som"
It is a story that I recommend one hundred percent, it is very very good.
Es una historia que recomiendo cien por ciento, es muy muy buena
