Journey to the Mountain [TBT] EN/ENG Photos that tell a story (Fotos que cuentan una historia)
Today I want to tell you about a family outing we had several years ago with my paternal family, which is from Montalban, a town in the state of Carabobo in Venezuela, there is a mountain of 1,810 meters high called “The hill” so on one occasion when we had perhaps more time, willingness and less responsibilities we went there very early, so much so that it was just dawn. Some of my relatives and I went by jeep and the more daring or less fortunate went on foot 😄, anyway going on foot had its advantages, to fully enjoy the scenery and explore a little more, anyway I did not stop taking pictures of what caught my attention, like that little house that I liked because it kept a charm in the best cottagecore style 😊.
Hoy quiero hablarles de una salida familiar que tuvimos hace varios años con mi familia paterna, la cual es de Montalbán, un pueblo del estado Carabobo en Venezuela, allí hay una montaña de 1.810 metros de altura llamada "La copa" así que en una ocasión en que teníamos quizá más tiempo, disposición y menos responsabilidades nos fuimos allí muy temprano, tanto que recién estaba amaneciendo. Algunos de mis familiares y yo nos fuimos en jeep y los más osados o menos afortunados se fueron a pie 😄, de todos modos ir a pie tenía sus ventajas, disfrutar a plenitud del paisaje y explorar un poco más, de todos modos yo no dejé de tomar fotos a lo que me llamaba la atención, como esa casita que me gustó porque mantenía un encanto al mejor estilo cottagecore 😊
Fortunately there were no visitors that day, so the mountain was all ours and we could enjoy it to the fullest, taking pictures and sunbathing wherever we wanted, because the truth is that up there it is very cold, even when the sun rises at noon, when down in the village it is very hot, up there it is very cold.
Afortunadamente no había ningún visitante ese día, así que la montaña era toda nuestra y así pudimos disfrutarla a plenitud, tomando fotos y tomando baños de sol donde quisiéramos, porque la verdad es que allá arriba hace muchísimo frío, incluso cuando el sol sube al mediodía, cuando abajo en el pueblo hace muchísimo calor, allí arriba hace muchísimo frio.
By this time the fog had lifted, so you can see the village behind me, as well as the other mountains that surround it. The scenery is beautiful 😍
A esa hora ya la niebla se había disipado, así que allá pueden ver el pueblo detrás de mi, además de las otras montañas que lo rodean. El paisaje es precioso 😍
In the afternoon we had our lunch, a delicious grilled meat (the smell of grilling meat flooded the whole mountain and just remembering it makes me hungry again 😋).
Por la tarde tomamos nuestro almuerzo, una deliciosa carne asada en parrilla (el olor de la carne asándose inundaba toda la montaña y de solo recordarlo se me vuelve a abrir el apetito 😋)
Then it was time for the photo shoot, there was a tree that we really liked, so my sister, my cousins and I took the opportunity to take some pictures there.
Luego llegó el momento de la sesión de fotos, es que había un árbol que nos gustaba mucho, así que mi hermana, mis primos y yo aprovechamos para tomarnos algunas fotos allí.
But definitely the most fun photo shoot was the one my cousin and I did in which we tried to tell the story of “La Sayona” a typical specter of Venezuela (my country) a terrible woman who appears in lonely places to attack womanizing, partying and drunken men. We tried to make a sequence that would tell the story of a man returning from a party, drunk, and suddenly he meets the specter on the road.
Pero definitivamente la sesión de fotos más divertida fue la que hicimos mi primo y yo en la que intentábamos contar la historia de "La Sayona" un espectro típico de Venezuela (mi país) una mujer terrible que se aparece en parajes solitarios para atacar a hombres mujeriegos, parranderos y borrachos. Intentamos hacer una secuencia que contara la historia de un hombre que regresaba de una fiesta, borracho y de pronto se encuentra en el camino el espectro.
Something that surprised me was to get this huge beetle that from what I could find out later is a rhinoceros beetle, I guess they call it that way because of that kind of horn that comes out of its head. But I only took it to take the pictures because it was already dead, otherwise I wouldn't have dared.
Algo que me sorprendió fue conseguir este escarabajo enorme que por lo que pude averiguar después es un escarabajo rinoceronte, supongo que lo llaman así por esa especie de cuerno que le sale en la cabeza. Pero solo lo tomé para hacer las fotos porque ya estaba muerto, porque de lo contrario no me hubiese atrevido.
