Harry Potter and the philosopher's stone [Book Review] ESP/ENG
Hello hello, people of the internet! How are you? Today I'm going to talk about my favorite saga, Harry Potter, specifically the first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, which I received as a birthday present a few years ago and which I've read no less than 7 times since then 😄 because I feel it's the perfect opening to that magical universe that J.K. Rowling gave us through reading.

Hoy voy a hablarles de mi saga favorita, Harry Potter, específicamente del primer libro Harry Potter y la Piedra Filosofal, el cuál recibí como regalo de cumpleaños hace ya algunos años y que desde ese entonces he leído no menos de 7 veces 😄 porque siento que es la apertura perfecta a ese mágico universo que dio J.K Rowling a través de la lectura.
The adventure begins when Harry, an ordinary boy who lives with his uncles after the death of his parents, and who is constantly harassed by his cousin Duddley and his friends, when he turns eleven he is visited by a peculiar character, it is a half-giant who is going to visit him at an isolated cabin in the middle of the sea where he was in a desperate attempt by his uncles to isolate him from his origins, this peculiar character named Hagrid gives Harry an admission letter and reveals the truth about his true origins, tells him that he is a wizard and that he has been admitted to study at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, in this way Harry embarks on a wonderful adventure of discovery of his own being and the world to which he belongs, but as not everything is rosy, Harry will also discover that there is a dark wizard who tries to kill him and who was responsible for the death of his parents.
La aventura comienza cuando Harry, un niño común y corriente que vive con sus tíos luego de la muerte de sus padres, y que es sometido a constante acoso por parte de su primo Duddley y los amigos de él, al cumplir los once años recibe la visita de un personaje peculiar, se trata de un semi gigante que lo va a visitar a una cabaña aislada en medio del mar donde él estaba en un intento desesperado de sus tíos por aislarlo de su procedencia, este peculiar personaje llamado Hagrid le entrega una carta de admisión a Harry y le revela la verdad acerca de su verdadero origen, le cuenta que es un mago y que ha sido admitido para estudiar en el colegio Hogwarts de magia y hechicería, de esta manera Harry se embarca en una maravillosa aventura de descubrimiento de su propios ser y el mundo al que pertenece, pero como no todo es color de rosa él Harry también descubrirá que hay un mago tenebroso que intenta matarlo y que fue el responsable de la muerte de sus padres.
Contrary to what many think, I do not believe that Harry Potter, the saga as such, is specifically made for children, although this book, the Philosopher's Stone, is the most "childish" of all, in reality I would say that the saga grows and matures along with the main character, taking a more youthful approach each time, until finally we find very adult reflections in the last book. This first book lays the foundations of the magical world, and we as readers discover the elements that compose it along with Harry, because the book is written solely from his perspective, in this way we understand that the magical world coexists with that of the muggles (people without magic) although they remain hidden in some way, and this magical world is much more extensive and complex than it seems, given that it manages its own political, social and economic system, in fact it has its own currency (Galleons), different species, beings and magical creatures, as well as languages and educational system.
Contrario a lo que muchos piensan, yo no creo que Harry Potter, la saga como tal, está hecha específicamente para niños, si bien este libro, la piedra filosofal el es más "infantil" de todos, en realidad yo diría que la saga crece y madura junto con el personaje principal, teniendo un enfoque más juvenil cada vez, hasta que finalmente nos encontramos con reflexiones muy adultas en el último libro. Este primer libro sienta las bases del mundo mágico, y nosotros como lectores vamos descubriendo los elementos que lo componen junto con Harry, porque el libro está escrito únicamente desde su perspectiva, de esta manera entendemos que el mundo mágico coexiste con el de los muggles (personas sin magia) aunque permanecen ocultos de algún modo, y este mundo mágico es mucho más extenso y complejo de lo que parece, en vista de que maneja su propio sistema político, social y económico, de hecho tiene su propia moneda (Galeones) diferentes especies, seres y criaturas mágicas, así como idiomas y sistema educativo.
It has a simple narrative and a tone that varies between funny and captivating, which often makes us laugh, especially because, as I told you, this first book is the one with the most childish style. J.K. Rowling is super skillful when it comes to describing places, situations, and characters, especially because she uses comparisons that are often fun and funny, like in the first chapters of this book where she says that Duddley Dursley (Harry's cousin) looks like a pig with a wig 😄
A medida que Harry se reencuentra con su lugar de origen va explorando también, lazos afectivos que antes no conocía, como la amistad, el cariño y el hecho de entender que fue tan amado por sus padres que ellos dieron su vida para salvarlo, al mismo tiempo se enfrenta a nuevos retos que le permiten descubrir su propia fuerza interior y la capacidad de resiliencia que lo definirá siempre.

Tiene una narrativa sencilla y un tono que varía entre lo divertido y lo cautivador que muchas veces nos hace reír, sobre todo porque tal como les dije, este primer libro es el que tiene un estilo más infantil. J.k Rowling es super hábil a la hora de describir lugares, situaciones y personajes, en especial porque utiliza comparaciones que a menudo resultan divertidas y graciosas, como en los primeros capítulos de este libro donde dice que Duddley Dursley (el primo de Harry) parece un cerdo con peluca 😄
The Philosopher's Stone itself is the symbol of immortality that Voldemort so desires to achieve, because he believes that only mediocre people can die, but Harry, with his determination and courage, and of course with the help of his friends and mentors, will be able to confront him. On the other hand, I also liked the way the author handled the theme of friendship, because it doesn't always arise in an idyllic way, as it happened when Harry met the Weasleys, but in an ironic way, as when he was able to consolidate a bond of trust with Hermione after saving her from the mountain troll, because before that, Harry and Ron would never have thought that Hermione could be their friend, so that scene is completely decisive.
La piedra filosofal como tal es el símbolo de inmortalidad que Voldemort tanto desea alcanzar, porque piensa que solo la gente mediocre puede morir, pero Harry con su determinación y valentía, por supuesto con la ayuda de sus amigos y mentores podrá hacerle frente. Por otra parte también me gustó la manera en la que la autora manejó el tema de la amistad, porque esta no siempre surge de forma idílica, como sucedió cuando Harry conoció a los Weasley, sino de forma irónica, como cuando pudo consolidar un lazo de confianza con Hermione luego de salvarla del trol de montaña, porque antes de eso Harry y Ron jamás habrían pensado que Hermione podría ser su amiga, así que esa escena es completamente determinante.
