Do It, the new song by Stray Kids (ENG/SPA)
Hello, Internet folks, how's it going? As I said in my previous post, I'd bring you my analysis of this MV, ‘Do It,’ the lead single from Stray Kids' new album of the same name.
Hola, gente de Internet ¿todo bien? Como dije en el post anterior, traeria el análisis de este MV "Do it" el single principal del nuevo disco de Stray Kids del mismo nombre
First of all, this is a Reggaeton song, yes, Stray Kids made a Reggaeton song. It's not the first time they've experimented with the genre; they had already done a fusion of K-pop and Reggaeton with Chk Chk Boom, but this time it's purely Reggaeton (in terms of the sample or backing track). I really liked the lyrics, as they offer advice on “doing it” and not overthinking the things you want to achieve, your goals, dreams, plans, etc. According to 3RACHA (Changbin, Bangchan and Han, the producers and composers who are members of the group), they themselves have been held back by intrusive thoughts and took a long time to achieve their goals, so their idea for this song is to share with listeners the advice they gave each other and followed to become the number one K-pop group today, all set to music.
Lo primero es decir que esta es una canción de Reggaeton, sí, Stray Kids hizo una canción de reggaeton. No es la primera vez que experimentan con el género, ya habían hecho una fusión de K-pop y Reggaeton con Chk Chk Boom sin embargo en esta ocasión es netamente Reggaeton (hablando del sample o musica base) la letra me gustó mucho ya que son consejos sobre "hacerlo" de no pensar demasiado hacerca de las cosas que quieres lograr, metas, sueños, planes, etc. Según 3RACHA (Changbin, Bangchan y Han, los productores y compositores miembros del grupo) ellos mismos han estado frenados por pensamientos intrusivos y demoraron en alcanzar sus metas entonces su pensamiento para esta canción es mostrarle al oyente los consejos que ellos mismos se dieron entre sí y siguieron para a día de hoy ser el grupo numero 1 de kpop todo hecho canción
The music is quite catchy, but it is more complex than Latin American reggaeton, with better accompanying sounds, beautiful lyrics with an important and meaningful message, and voices that modulate very well in the three languages used in the song (Korean, English, and Spanish), featuring eight beautiful and harmonious voices.
La música es bastante pegadiza, pero es más compleja al reggaeton de latinoamérica, mejores sonidos de acompñamiento, linda letra con un mensaje importante y con sentido y voces que modulan muy bien en los tres idiomas utilizados en la canción (coreano, inglés y español) contando con 8 voces hermosas y armónicas
The MV looks very opaque and dark in a dystopian world. The sorcerers arrive at an abandoned place, while the entire first verse was recorded in one continuous shot (which was a challenge because if anyone made a mistake, they had to start over). But as the chorus approaches, everything fills with energy and neon colours, reflecting the explosion of the chorus and its message: ‘Just do it, just do what you want to do, I guarantee it's the best thing for you, just do it.’
El MV se ve muy opaco y oscuro en un mundo distópico, los hechiceros arriban a un lugar abandonado mientras toda la primera estrofa se grabó en un plano continuo (lo que supuso un reto ya que si alguno se equivocaba debían empezar de nuevo) pero a medida que se acerca el coro, se va llenando todo de energía y colores neon teniendo que ver con la explosión que supone el coro y su mensaje "Solo, hazlo, Solo haz lo que quieras hacer, te garantizo que es lo mejor para ti, solo hazlo"
The second verse is brighter, set during the day, with a much lighter and warmer colour palette, and the final chorus is even like a fanfare, like being at a party.
La segunda estrofa es más luminosa, de día, con una paleta de colores mucho más clara y cálida y en el último coro incluso es como una fanfárrea, como estar de fiesta
The truth is that many Stay (fans) were concerned when they heard that the boys had chosen reggaeton for this song, but I wasn't. I knew they were only referring to the music, as they clearly have a unique style and their songs involve a lot of artistry and hard work.
La verdad es que muchas Stay (fans) se sintieron preocupadas al saber que los chicos eligieron reggaeton para esta canción, sin embargo yo no, sabía que se referían solo a la música ya que claramente tienen un estilo único y en sus canciones hay mucho arte y trabajo duro
I also really liked the choreography because it is quite energetic but fluid, it has some Latin dance steps and the boys perform it perfectly with great skill and fluidity.
La coreografía también me gustó mucho debido a que es bastante enérgica pero fluyente, tiene algunos pasos de baile latino y además los chicos la ejecutan a la perfección con mucha destreza y fluidez
Their costumes are also quite beautiful, dark at first and then light in colour to match the colour palette used throughout the video. Their make-up (very natural, as they are clearly men and should look like they are wearing no make-up) has cool, elegant tones that go perfectly with the theme, as do their hairstyles and accessories.
Sus trajes también son bastante bonitos, al principio oscuros y después con colores claros para adaptarse a la paleta de colores manejada a lo largo del video, su maquillaje (muy natural ya que claramente son hombres y debe verse make up no make up) tiene tonos fríos y elegantes que van perfectamente con la temática, asimismo su estilo de cabello y los accesorios utilizados
In short, it's a catchy song, very good in all aspects and characteristics. It's no secret that I love these guys, and it's not just because they do K-pop, but because they create the best fusions to achieve their unique style, which makes me feel even prouder of every piece of work they release :3
En resumen es una canción pegadiza, muy buena en todos sus aspectos y características. No es secreto para nadie que amo a estos chicos y es que no solo hacen kpop sino que hacen las mejores fusiones hasta lograr su sello único lo que hace que cada trabajo que sacan me haga sentir más orgullosa :3

This song goes beyond whether people like reggaeton or not, it has a powerful message that few other songs of that style have, and on the other hand what amazed me the most is that as you say, there are eight voices and they sing in three languages, that's absolutely great. As an artist I can tell you that the video is super powerful in its graphics, shocking, those guys have done an amazing job!!!! Thanks for bringing it!!! Hugs!🤗
