IS MONEY INVESTED IN SPORTS A WASTE ?

International sporting events is something we hold in high esteem in my country Nigeria, not just in my country here all over the world and it is holds a major place in our culture and entertainment industry as most men all over the world indulge in watching football during their free time , mostly after work and over the weekends or whenever their clubs are playing, football stands out as the king of sports.
This brings us to this weeks content which is centered on ( THE WORLD OF SPORTS) The Olympics that takes place every four years is a very big sport event and it consist of a lot of sporting activities like ( relay race , javelin , football, swimming ,volleyball, table tennis ) and a lot of athletes come from all over the world come to participate in different games and they spend a lot to do their training to perfect their skills so they can be perfect in their different parts and win the medals that are given out after the games.
Talking about the kind of money that is invested in sports is never a waste and should not invested in something else because sports is never a waste because sports is peoples lifestyle in most countries and sports it’s a major part of the worlds entertainment. Have we ever have we thought about it this way , sports is the major employment for a lot of people.
Our Nigerian players the super eagles have always made us proud so many times with their skills in football and these are youths who have invested a good amount of time and energy training all year trying to keep fit to represent the country well. Parents encourage their sons who are good in sports to undergo train to Become professional footballers, so they can represent the country in the nationals.
We Nigerians are always happy to watch them play. I barely watch football but whenever Nigeria is playing I leave everything on my desk to cheer my people on.
In my own suggestions much more money should be invested in sports because I feel its underrated anf should be paid more attention. The people who come from all over the world to participate break world record of the fastest runner and so many others , in this way they are making their country that they are representing proud.
Especially for the professional footballers like ( Ronaldo and messi) who have trained all their life to be perfect they get their income from their so you see money invested in sports can never be a waste in any context. Without proper funding we won’t sports won’t stand out all over the world as it is now. Most footballers get paid in dollars on monthly basis and some of them are so good that other teams buy them to come play in their team.

I truly understand what you said and I resonate with it. Honestly, these guys train so hard that no amount is a waste when they get invested in.
For real they train they dedicate their life to training so they deserve everything bit of money put into sports

It's quite unfortunate that our government put little importance to sport and rarely invest in it. the other time some athletes died in a road accident simply because the sports association of their state refused to invest good money. To further aggravate the issue, they gave each family 1milion naira as compensation. Indeed our leaders are mean.
More should be done the sports section deserves more than they deserve
