I TOLD YOU SO

Words have away they penetrate our souls either in the positive or negative ways and it cuts deep when it comes inform of disappointment or regrets after a mistake we were warned about but paid no heed to.

Some words we humans use on ourselves make some of us feel attacked or judged in so many ways that words cannot explain. In most cases people feel like they are being attacked and judged because of things they have disclosed to people about them in the past.

So when we some words while communicating with people like this they end up feeling dejected and crushed and it takes a toll on their self esteem .

The phrase i told you so has been used in so many cases where someone has deliberately made a mistake or taken a bad decision and regrets it later. Thinking about this phrase it is always said after the deed has being done ,and the way it is understood depends on the context of the situation at hand .

Looking at it in the aspect a man who is tired of his current job as a cashier in a bank because he was not being paid well and he wants to tend his resignation letter, but in all this plans he dose not have a backup plan to fall back to if he should resign.
He informs his family about this decision and they try to warn him ahead of time about having a backup plan before leaving the current job and he dose not pay any attention to them. Depending on the months salary to survive ,and he eventually gets rid of his former job at the bank with nothing to fall back to.

And a few weeks into it ,life hits really hard and there is no new job forth coming and the money was running low and it became hard to keep up with the responsibilities and they he realizes his mistake and he returns to people who advised him earlier and they say i told you so but you never listened. At this point the word cuts deeper than any wound you can ever imagine and your left feeling judged for all the bad reasons.

Well i have used the phrase (i told you so) in so many occasions to other people and even to myself because i have made mistakes sometimes and when people use it on me it huts more knowing i could have listened and the situation would have been avoided.

Looking at it from the brighter side the phrase (i told you so) should be seen as correction never to repeat the same mistake again.
