Depression....

Depression is not one of the things a person will hope for. It is one of the worse things that can ever happen to a person.

Some people that experienced it decided that suicide is the next step, it sounds like something a depressed person will do, but that does not mean it should be done. While depression doesn't come easily, it doesn't go easily too.

Depression isn't sadness, sadness doesn't last as long and doesn't give a lot of mental strain. So what is depression and what causes it?

In my opinion, depression is like a mental issue that affects the brain and prolongs sadness and other bad moods. It could cause excess sleeping, anxiety and might also even cause limited physical movement.

Most depressed people become shut-ins and that could increase the chances of them committing suicide. To prevent this, its best to have them interact with other people more, although having them interact with other depressed people might further worsen the case.

Having them interact with extroverts and jovial people might improve the condition over time. Interacting with people will prevent thoughts that might lead to suicide.

Depression doesn't just appear and chose randomly, it is usually caused by the environment or the people surrounding them. It might be because they are not able to achieve something that others are achieving easily, or falling behind everyone else.

Fighting the depression might not be as good as that is what mainly leads to the thought of suicide. Embracing it and expressing the feelings to others might be work better.

Being depressed is really bad, but how it is handled also matters. I'm pretty sure I've had my fair share in it and suicide isn't even one of the options I have. I would like to hear others opinion too as this is solely based on experience alone.
