How to cook egusi soup with out breaking up with your kitchen
Hi guys so you want to cook Egusi soup? Good choice! It's one of the best decision you'll ever make- second only to saying "yes" to jollof rice 😅 . Let me show you how to turn simple ingredients into a delicious, Rich pot of egusi soup that can make your neighbor start greeting you differently.
Today we are going step-by-step, using real-life kitchen action ( see pictures) to show you how to make egusi soup that slaps harder than NEPA taking light.
step 1: Add your pepper mix ( the Red Alert Begins)
First thing first - Heat your palm oil in a pot. Not too much; cooking soup, not starting a refinery.
Once it's hot, add your chopped/blended pepper mix. Look at the picture : see how colorful and promising it looks? That's not just pepper, it's potentials
At this stage, the whole kitchen will start smelling like" who's cooking??" Even your neighbor go begin cough stylishly. that's when you know it's getting serious.
step 2:stir like you're in a music video
Don't just stand there - stir! Stir that pepper mix with energy. You're not just turning soup, you're turning destiny. Make sure the papper fries well so the raw taste disappears and all the sweetness settles into the oil.
Add your seasoning here: crayfish, Maggi, salt, and anything else your village people approves. Let everything simmer like it's attending a conference of flavor
step 3: Add the egusi- the Real MVP has Entered
Now it's time to introduce the main character:Egusi paste
. Mix your ground egusi with a bit of water, then drop it gently into the pot like you're laying golden Don't stir it yet oh! Let it steam
yes just leave it to meditate and find it's purpose in life for a few minutes.
once it's firmed up like soft scrambled eggs, now you can stir everything together. Look at that texture! The soup is now looking like something that can cause argument at family meetings.
Final touch: Add your already - cooked meat, pomo, frish or anything your heart ( and stomach) desires, simmer everything for 10-15 more minutes and boom - your egusi is ready to cause problems ( the delicious kind ).
Serve it hot with ponded yam ,eba semo or rice if you like breaking rules😎
