Basel - The City of Timeless Elegance | Switzerland 🇨🇭

This is not my first time posting here, but i think i’m gonna start posting here more frequently now i have the time. I think it's properly to present myself first. I don't want to bore you that's not what we are here for, but i'm basically a traveller, i've been to lots of countries and continue to explore our magnificient world, so today i'm showing you my last trip which was to Switzerland and more precisely Basel.

Anyway let's get into the good stuff shall we? Long story-short i went there, because i needed some fresh air from work and because my sister lives there and she wanted me to come so bad. I was never in Switzerland before and was expecting it to bring some german vibes, but with the best quality food in the world, but i was wrong about the vibes it's something totally different than what i imagined it to be.

I have to note that i travelled there via plane and the views from it were phenomenal, seeing all these mountains from that attitude makes you realize how big the world actually is you know.

Anyway this city is very elegant made, but it brings the vibes from the quote "sunshine with little hurricane", which means it's very beautiful, but very badly spread. By badly spread i mean the way this city is structured is kinda confusing. It is not very large, infact the city by size is smaller or just as big as Milan and the population is around 150 000 people which amazed me how less people there are in this city.

By the way i have to note that almost all of the photos you see are from the centre. In this city basically everything makes you think you are in it. What you are gonna see next is the Rhine river where people basically go to swim which was strange for me, because boats go by this river and it should be kinda dirty, but the water comes from a mountain.

It was a fun activity, because not only we went for a swim, but we went on the Ship of the first picture which is a tourist ship that goes to the french side and goes back, oh almost forgot I don’t know how but while we were on the ship it drifted on the water for the tourist attractions, don’t ask me how I don’t know. Anyway the next couple of photos are from this bridge which brings very beautiful cityscapes, in fact the whole city is one huge cityscape i will show you further in the post why is that.

Let’s talk about the culture, which i don’t have many to talk about. Here’s where the city gets very hollow, because it doesn’t feel like Switzerland, but some very mixed cultural city with so many ethnicities. The people are friendly, but being your friends is totally different thing it’s just that the people there are very “folded” if i can express myself that way they are very closed on their personalities and it’s weird. But the thing I really liked about was the food, it felt very organic even in the supermarkets everything felt very authentic i cant explain it, but its true what they say about the food in Switzerland -It’s 1st Quality. Here is some shot from a dish i ate in one of their places, a steak with mushrooms.

Other than that i went shopping for some clothing and some perfumes in one of these big stores on 3 or 4 stories which are located in this place of the city, which is still a downtown for me. I think almost every country has this city with this very crowded place you know, well this was the place i went for shopping.

For the record i’ve had so many photos from this trip I couldn’t think of what to pick exactly, but i tried to tell the experience of the trip as short and as interesting as possible.

So this is it guys i hope i let your experience the city through my story and my photos. I guess the thing i learned from this trip is no matter how beautiful a city can be, no matter how high the standard can be, it can still feel empty, because what makes the city and it’s vibes are the people and I didn’t quite felt i was in the right place. It had it’s pros and cons i would definitely visit it again, but I wouldn’t even thought of living in it. 😃
