The top vintage bar where I started working in Ibiza

Hello dear friends of Hive and the Black and white Community! I hope you are having a beautiful day! This time I will be sharing with you some images of the first place I worked in Ibiza, and thus, I participate in the #monomad challenge of the day.

It's called "Room Service". Yes, it has a strange name, but it's a really ordinary bar located in the port of the city. I never asked my boss why it was called that.

Room Service has become quite well known for its drinks, as they are quite original and one of the owners (who was my boss) is a mixologist, so what they offer is quite original and of a high standard.

At that time I worked in the kitchen. As some of you may know, when travelling, I have had to work in different jobs, where the kitchen has been one of the most frequented, along with hotel receptionist.

Hola queridos amigos de Hive y de Black and white Community! Espero que estén pasando un día hermoso!! En esta oportunidad estaré compartiendo con ustedes unas imágenes del primer lugar en el que trabajé en Ibiza, y así, participo del #monomad challenge del día.

Se llama “Room Service”. Sí, tiene un nombre extraño, pero es un bar realmente común y corriente que se encuentra en el puerto de la ciudad. Nunca le pregunté a mi jefe el por qué de su nombre.

Room Service se ha hecho bastante conocido por sus tragos, ya que son bien originales y uno de los dueños (quien era mi jefe), es mixólogo, por lo que lo que ofrecen es bastante original y de alto nivel.

En esa oportunidad trabajé en cocina. Como algunos sabrán, al viajar, me he tenido que desempeñar en diferentes puestos, en donde cocina ha sido uno de los que más he frecuentado, junto con recepcionista de hotel.

I gained a lot of experience in France and I must admit that Room Service took me to another level, as I had to almost learn to work with raw fish such as sea bass, amberjack, tuna (the fish, not the canned tuna) and I worked with red prawns, oysters and so on. I had very little experience with this, if any, but here I also made pizzas, which is something I did have practice with as I myself was dedicated to creating my best dough between 2018 and 2020 until my life started to change completely with this travelling thing, and I had also helped a friend in the kitchen of his bar in its beginnings around the same time.

I was never able to take too many photos, because I was alone in the kitchen and was only helped from time to time by Sol, the waitress, who hated going into the kitchen.

On my last day of work there, I took several photos with the intention of sharing them with you, as the place, with its vintage style, is very attractive.

Room service is oriented towards bars in Milan, as its owners are Italian, and although I don't know if they belong to this city, they have sought to imitate the fashion of that metropolis.

Gané bastante experiencia en Francia y debo reconocer que Room Service me llevó a otro nivel, ya que tuve que casi que aprender a trabajar con pescado crudo como corvina, sirvia, atún (el pescado, no el atún de lata) y demás trabajé con gambas rojas, ostras y demás. Tenía muy poca experiencia con esto, sino es que nada, pero aquí también hice pizzas, lo cual sí es algo en lo que tenía práctica ya que yo misma me dediqué a crear mi mejor masa entre el 2018 y el 2020 hasta que mi vida empezó a cambiar por completo con esto de viajar, y además había ayudado a un amigo en la cocina de su bar en sus inicios, en esa misma época.

Nunca pude tomar demasiadas fotos, porque estaba sola en la cocina y solo me ayudaba cada tanto Sol, la camarera, que detestaba entrar a la cocina.

Mi último día de trabajo allí, tomé varias fotos con la intención de compartirlas con ustedes, ya que el lugar, con su estilo vintage, es muy atractivo.

Room service está orientado en bares de Milán, pues sus dueños son italianos, y aunque no sé si pertenecen a esta ciudad, sí que han buscado imitar a la moda de aquella metrópoli.

He has a relaxed, casual style, and many visitors have described him as "instagrammable". You can draw your own conclusions by looking at the photos.

When I took them, I didn't pass by the bar, but by the front and the dining room, as I was wearing my apron with a lot of flour on it, and we had customers in the bar area. It didn't look good if I walked past them like that, because it took away from the glam of the place.

Although those were really intense days of work, I remember them with a lot of joy, because in a way that's how Ibiza welcomed me, and in the end, although tired, it was a great experience from which I learned a lot.

Tiene un estilo relajado, casual, y muchos visitantes lo catalogaron de “instagrameable”. Pueden sacar sus propias conclusiones al ver las fotos.

Cuando las tomé, no pasé por la barra, sino por la fachada y el comedor, pues yo llevaba el delantal con bastante harina y en la zona de la barra teníamos clientes. No quedaba bien que pasara así frente a ellos, porque le quitaba el glam al lugar.

Aunque aquellos fueron días de trabajo realmente intensos, los recuerdo con mucha alegría, pues de alguna manera es como me recibió Ibiza, y al final aunque cansada, sí que fue una gran experiencia de la cual aprendí mucho.
