Barcelona in Black and White: What is it hiding that makes it so attractive to everyone who passes by? | Monomad Challenge

Hello my dear friends of the Black and White community on Hive! I hope you are having a beautiful day. With this post I participate in the #monomad challenge of the day, and I come to bring you a little bit of Barcelona.

We will see some of its streets in black and white and we will get lost in the nooks and crannies that this city keeps. And is that anyone who visits it, even if you do not become a fan of La Barceloneta, Montjuic mountain, the beach or some other point to visit, can not deny that Barcelona hides a mystery that is very seductive for visitors and for those who live there.

Hola mis queridos amigos de la comunidad de Black and White en Hive! Espero que estén teniendo un día hermoso. Con este post participo del #monomad challenge del día, y vengo a traerles un poco de Barcelona.

Veremos algunas de sus calles en blanco y negro y nos perderemos por los recovecos que guarda esta ciudad. Y es que cualquier persona que la visita, aunque no se convierta en fanático de La Barceloneta, del monte Montjuic, de la playa o de algún otro punto a visitar,no puede negar que Barcelona esconde un misterio que resulta muy seductor para los visitantes y para quienes viven allí.

Chosen by millions of people around the globe, Barcelona is currently one of the most cosmopolitan cities in existence, and although Catalan is its language, along with Spanish, it is very common to hear English, French, Italian and other languages in any corner of the city you visit.

What I find most attractive about Barcelona in terms of what the city is, is the Gothic City area, which invites you to walk narrow streets with stones on the sides that somehow are able to move you to the late nineteenth century although in its premises you can see tablets, smartphones and any other element that evidences our existence in the XXI century.

In the images you can see some of these streets, as well as some buildings that the city presents as well, as naturally, but that in truth are the work of the acclaimed Gaudí, an architect with an inspiration strongly based on nature, who was in charge of impressive works such as the church La Sagrada Familia or Parc Güell. These buildings "hide" in the urban fabric of Barcelona but their particularity is so exquisite that it is too difficult to ignore them, besides some of them today receive tourists and charge an entrance fee to enter.

Elegida por millones de personas alrededor del globo, Barcelona es actualmente una de las ciudades más cosmopolitas que existe, y aunque el catalán sea su lengua, junto al español, es muy común escuchar inglés, francés, italiano y otros idiomas en cualquier rincón de la ciudad que se visite.

Lo que más me resulta atractivo de Barcelona en cuanto a lo que es la ciudad, es el área de Ciudad Gótica, que te invita a caminar estrechas calles con piedras a los costados que de alguna manera son capaces de trasladarte a finales del siglo XIX aunque en sus locales puedas ver tablets, smartphones y cualquier otro elemento que evidencie nuestra existencia en el siglo XXI.

En las imágenes pueden ver algunas de estas calles, como también algunos edificios que presenta la ciudad así, como naturalmente, pero que en verdad son obra del aclamado Gaudí, un arquitecto con una inspiración fundada fuertemente en la naturaleza, que estuvo a cargo de obras impresionantes como la iglesia La Sagrada Familia o Parc Güell. Estos edificios “se esconden” en la trama urbana de Barcelona pero su particularidad es tan exquisita que es demasiado difícil ignorarlos, además algunos de ellos hoy reciben turistas y cobran una entrada para poder ingresar.

Among these buildings that are located in the center, we can mention (you can also see them in the pictures) Casa Batlló and Casa Milà (also known as "La Pedrera"). Something you will also see in the pictures is the Palau del Baró de Quadras, which is not a very famous work but walking by the front calls the attention because at least to me it reminded me of the works of Gaudí himself. The architect of this building was Josep Puig i Cadafalch, you can read more in Wikipedia from where I got this last piece of information.

Entre estos edificios que se encuentran en el centro, se pueden mencionar (también pueden contemplarlos en las fotos, Casa Batlló y Casa Milà (también conocida como “La Pedrera”). Algo que también verán en las imágenes es el Palau del Baró de Quadras, que no es una obra demasiado famosa pero pasar por el frente llama la atención porque al menos a mí me hizo recordar a las obras del mismo Gaudí. El arquitecto de este edificio fue Josep Puig i Cadafalch, pueden leer más en Wikipedia de donde obtuve este último dato.
