Hello friends who love threads and needles, I wish you an excellent week together with your loved ones, I am happy to share a new sewing project and one of my favorites; lingerie for babies, it is a sheet and cover for a friend's baby, who was born at the end of the month, but this beautiful princess came to the world on Valentine's Day to give her mommy the most tender and great gift of love.
Little Arantza is very active and likes to sleep during the day, nights are for playing and not letting mommy sleep heh, heh.
Hola amigos amantes de los hilos y las agujas, les deseo una excelente semana en unión de sus seres queridos, me siento feliz de compartir un nuevo proyecto de costura y uno de mis favoritos; lencería para bebés, se trata de una sabana y funda para la bebé de una amiga, que nacería a finales de mes, pero esta hermosa princesa se adelantó y vino al mundo el día de san Valentín para darle a su mamita el más tierno y grande regalo de amor.
La pequeña Arantza es muy activa y le gusta dormir durante el día, las noches son para jugar y no dejar dormir a mami je, je.

The elaboration of the blanket is simple, I cut a rectangle in polar fleece and rounded the corners, then I sewed a bias of microfiber fabric all around the contour with straight stitch facing the right side of the fabric and the back of the bias.
Manta
La elaboración de la manta es sencilla, corté un rectángulo en manta polar y redondeé las esquinas, luego cosí un sesgo de tela micro fibra por todo el contorno con puntada recta enfrentando revés de la tela y derecho del sesgo.
Then I turned the bias, folded and sewed with straight stitch, trying to cover the previous seam; in the curved areas I made picks in both fabrics, these facilitate the sewing in curved lines, which sometimes have a little difficulty; with these two simple steps the blanket is finished.

Cover
I cut three rectangles, two for the back and one for the front, then sewed a hem on one end of the small rectangles, which will form the cover of the pouch.
Funda
Corté tres rectángulos, dos para la parte trasera y uno para la parte delantera, luego cosí un dobladillo en uno de los extremos de los rectángulos pequeños, los cuales formarán la tapa de la funda.
I then sewed a hem on the dacron strips, hand stitched and glued on the top edge of the front (large rectangle).

After gluing the ruffle, I faced the back and front pieces, sewed with straight stitch following the ruffle seam line, the pillowcase is sewn all around and flipped over the opening of the back covers that are overlapping, this type of pillowcase is ideal for children, they like to play with the pillow and they regularly get out of the traditional pillowcases, this design keeps it safe, as the back covers are one on top of the other.
Pegado el rufle, enfrenté las piezas traseras y delantera, cosí con puntada recta siguiendo la línea de costura del rufle, la funda se cose por todo el contorno y se voltea por la abertura de las tapas traseras que van sobre puestas, este tipo de fundas es ideal para los niños, a ellos les gusta jugar con la almohada y estas regularmente se salen de las fundas tradicionales, este diseño la mantiene segura; ya que, las tapas traseras quedan una encima de la otra.
I love baby projects, they inspire me and I enjoy sewing each piece, the initial idea was to place pink ribbon all around the blanket with its respective ribbon trim, but while cutting the corners of the blanket I realized that the amount of ribbon I had was not enough to cover the contour and I chose to place a bias to match the cover, the result I liked and Arantza stays warm in her blanket.
I have rarely sewn lingerie for girls and I was very happy combining the fabrics, purple with pink is one of my favorite combinations, they are soft and delicate tones especially for princesses.
Los proyectos para bebés me encantan, me inspiran y disfruto coser cada pieza, la idea inicial era colocar cinta rosa por todo el contorno de la manta con su respectivo pasa cintas, pero mientras cortaba las esquinas de la manta me di cuenta que la cantidad de cinta que tenía no era suficiente para cubrir el contorno y opté por colocar un sesgo a juego la funda, el resultado me gustó y Arantza se mantiene calentita en su manta.
En pocas ocasiones he cosido lencería para niñas y me sentí muy feliz combinando las telas, el color morado con rosa es una de mis combinaciones favoritas, son tonos suaves y delicados especiales para las princesas.

Cuando describes a la pequeña Arantza siento que me identifico con su mamita, pues así exactamente era mi hija Rafaela recién nacida. Todo lo que ella quería era dormir con mamá, al acostarla a mi lado empezó a dormir toda la noche.
La cobijita quedó preciosa. Buen trabajo amiga.
