Remote working and all the perks
Today was the first time I worked from home and I absolutely loved it. During the training period, I'll be working from home once a week and four days in the office but after that, it'll switch to four at home and one in the office.
I guess the general idea is to prepare us for when we actually start working from home. This first day has been nice and I really look forward to doing this more often.
For now, we're still in the training phase, so it is just a lot more information being crammed. We have to normalize all the bits about insurance and basically figure out how we're going to apply it in our interactions with customers.
I spent a major part of my life working from home, so I have no difficulty in adjusting to the remote working lifestyle. I guess the only difference is having work on a company's schedule rather than the one I create for myself.
What I would say is that the 9-5 life is slightly easier to digest when you work remote but the schedule still doesn't allow for any sort of personal activities. For example, I've been contemplating going doing some face to face research with Internet service providers for our corner of the house because the current wifi is really crappy and I haven't been able to make out time for it.
I'm still one of the old school brands of people that only feel secure in a transaction when I physically interact with someone selling it. I guess this is one of the hazards of my previous profession. After doing so much digital marketing for brands, I've grown wary of the internet and only want to interact with brands on a face to face basis.
Anyway, working from home is absolutely awesome and my current role will allow me to do it. We have already started making preliminary plans to relocate to a place with a bit more space that will enable me carry out my duties with even more efficiency.
Remote working is good but I think hybrid is even better. I follow hybrid and this is better because I get flexibility as well as social connect at work.
I think with the way, the world is trending to, the world is really trending to the pattern of working from home
