Making memories and a drunk baby

Yesterday, my siblings, wife and my nephews decided to go for a sit out. It turned out to be a lot more fun than I expected.

I must admit, my time in Yenagoa has been more fun and quieter than I envisaged it would be. My nephews went back to their own place last night but before they left, we sat out at one pizza spot in the area and enjoyed each other's company.

One of the perks of being from a large family is the mix of personalities. Despite being raised by the same parents, we tend to be different but sort of similar at the same time.

Our differences and similarities often leads to arguments and stuff but the way I see it, all of that contributes to what makes family so awesome. We fight, quarrel and go through a lot with each other but nothing can ever affect the bond in a family.

Our similarities were on show yesterday, as we all got together and had a very loud hang out. We were all mildly inebriated after a couple drinks but it was that very alcohol that contributed to what turned out to be an unforgettable day of our lives.

The standout moment of the evening was when our nephew accidentally drank from the wrong cup. He's turning 2 in a couple of days but he didn't have to wait 16 more years to drink God's gift to mankind.

There were two cups in front of him and he picked the cup with his mum's drink. After a few seconds of drinking what I must add is a very mild alcoholic drink, we realized the situation and snatched the drunk from him.

No one was really scared because he only took a tiny quantity and frankly speaking, most of us had drank a lot more than that at his age. Don't judge us, it's a cultural thing.

Anyway, he didn't seem to be affected by the drink but his dad said there was a lot of singing on their way home. In the future, we're all going to remind our nephew of this event and to me, this is what it's all about. We made a memory with a drunk baby.
