The flame of free speech is highly alive on the Hive blockchain
While I never was nor I am a great writer, I like to think that I am good blogger that story tells how I've earned crypto and ultimately money by actually owning what I create. I've started truly blogging since I have discovered the Hive blockchain and I've surrounded by a great community sharing and supporting my views and writings. After around 8 years spent here, I can say that I've gained some blogging experience and refinement in this space that I can call it a "cozy digital home". Before I was hopping through platforms that censored content or took a ridiculous cut of earnings (like 100% from everything 😁), and after I stumbled upon the Hive blockchain everything changed. And I still cannot believe how owning my content empowered and helped me develop in so many ways...
Blogging without any silencing
On Hive, I say what I want. And I mean that literally, even if I am quite a moderate guy and simply don't want to get into conflicts with others and keep an open mind. Whether it’s my hot takes on crypto markets, opinions and disappointments, or even just sharing a random story from my day, no one’s out here policing my words. There’s no hidden algorithm trying to mute my voice or centralized admin deciding what’s “okay” to post or not. This is because Hive is built on the blockchain and it is fully decentralized. So once I hit publish, my content is stored on the chain forever, not on some company’s server where it can be edited or removed without warning. And this truly represents real ownership by putting your mark into the work and for it to remain there written in stone.
Decentralization means (own)control
Decentralization isn't just a buzzword people throw around and it actually works on Hive blockchain. There’s no CEO or single company running the show. It’s a community driven platform, and that changes the whole dynamic. We, the users, get to shape what kind of content gets visibility through curation. Engagement here isn’t bought, but rather earned. There might still be extremes, but overall I believe this works. Ever posted something amazing on traditional platforms only to get zero reach because it didn’t “fit” the platform’s idea of trending? Yeah, I’ve been there too. On Hive, if people are interested in what you write, they upvote it and those votes have real value through monetary exchange. And through communities you can find a sweet spot where you can share your passions with others and lift each other up.
Powered by crypto and driven through communities
One thing that captivated me and got me on Hive is that it rewards me for being active. I’m not just talking about blogging, but also commenting, curating and just being part of meaningful communities. It’s social media powered by crypto, but with real community heart. I’ve made friends here who support my posts, give feedback, and even challenge my ideas (and I do the same with them, when something doesn't feel right from my point of view). It’s like blogging meets community building with the bonus of earning while doing it. No Google Ads needed. No sponsors. Just pure value exchange between people who share similar interests and beliefs like crypto, decentralization, tech, earning money or even art and lifestyle.
From passion to profit through ownership
When I first started, I was just looking for a place to vent about crypto stuff and get updates with potential x100 crypto assets. But Hive turned into something more than that as it allowed me laying my thoughts, provided me a wallet for my earnings, and help me network with people that dream of crypto like me. Thus, here I am, earning tokens, building rep, and actually looking forward to posting when the time is on my side. That’s what Hive gives me and I believe it is similar for you: freedom, ownership, and a way to turn my passion into something tangible. Who doesn't like to earn money from his/her passion? I surely love that!
Above all I believe that free speech is highly alive and well on the Hive blockchain and it is something we trade too lightly compared to what that means and offers. I surely got tired of playing by big tech’s rules that were reaping all the rewards and Hive simply shows a different world where I could start owning my content, my voice, and my earnings regardless of how low/big all where. I've always felt that Hive is a movement, a flame that’s burning strong for those of us who still believe in the power of words, freedom, decentralization and earning from that. I still wonder how come this blockchain didn't get more recognition and captured more value, but I guess when you don't have VCs or Institutions driving the price up, it is up to us to organically grow this ecosystem. And we might not get up to the top over night, but we are slowly moving up there.
